A great defeat for the Naruto series as it seems like Neji Hyuga, part of the strongest family within Konoha, has been deemed to have died within the latest Naruto 614 chapter. This was a total surprise to many fans, especially the artist of this great image! He’s always been one of the more known friends of Naruto that we know most, that’s why most the fans are somewhat upset.
The artist mentions that it could have been worst, because the spike could have hit Hinata and ruin all the Naruto and Hinata believers out there. He goes on to mention that he wishes that Masashi would start killing off more characters, only to make the fans go berserk.
The image above was a little tribute to Neji which he made today, he was drawn as a ghost going to a higher place such as heaven. I don’t usually feature pencil sketches but art like this is always awesome, so I had to. Go and check the fantastic artist, Nick-Ian, who purely believes in Team Obito!

I think it was out of play or it wasn’t the orginal plan for Neji to have died. It’s too early for a member of the konoha eleven to be eliminated like that, but i believe that the fourth ninja war will end by the hands of naruto and sasuke. Period

If he gets there after knowing what he needs to know then yes, maybe…. but I’m still hoping for a lot more crucial and more larger characters to die, comparing Bleach and Naruto manga’s, Bleach is a lot higher for me than Naruto…

I agree. I do think it was a little too early and too sudden that Neji died. But I guess that’s the reality of war – friends die, people you love unexpectedly perish… Pretty sad actually. 😦
But on the other hand, maybe Masashi was just trolling with the fans. XD

Fully Agree, it’s probably going to get Naruto a lot more angry and pissed that even his own friends, who didn’t even care about him a couple of years ago are now sacrificing for him…. They are being true friends…

For me I am a big fan of Naruto, every password I own has Hyuga or Neji in it. It just seems poorly put. I think Kishimoto was getting the sense that readers were getting poor…. as we are. But NEJI?!?!?!?! At least Hinata or someone useless like Shino or Kiba but I agree the Konoha eleven?!?!?! I think this was just trump card for readers to stay enthralled…. I am not amused

Fully agree, the spikes are too weak of a object/substance to which it could kill such a strong and powerful, well-loved neji…. It came out of nowhere…Hinata would have been even worse as both Hinata and Naruto need to end up toghether, even Neji states this during his last moments…

People die on Naruto right, but I still don’t think it makes sense of how Neji dies. Jiraiya died WAY more realistically than Neji did, they tried to say the Rotation wasn’t fast enough BUT Neji and Hiashi could have just made a huge Rotation and the speed really doesn’t matter much because if you have a 100 foot tall wall and it being 100 foot wide it doesn’t need to be fast to repel the attack as long as the base is strong?! Asuma and his dads death looked cleanly written and together but this just looks put together out of nowhere! Bottom line whoever else wants to come and say “I’m in denial” or ” Friends die” I just feel like it doesn’t make sense. Nuff said

At that point, they didn’t have any rotations, Hinata couldn’t even save Naruto with her rotation, so she went in front of Naruto to help him… This made Neji to go in the middle, because he’s like her older brother…

Hmm I don’t agree, just after one death you seem to predict that someone worthy of dying has died… That’s not true, there is one more anime that your missing which is Bleach, it’s a awesome anime, the death of Yamamoto was horrific, plus Byakuya’s death could have also been critical!! but he seems to be alive..

I watched Naruto just for Neji.Has Kishi gone mad,killing such a strong character while others like Choji,Ino nd Tenten are allowed to live.Kishi just has to do something nd make Neji alive again.

Maybe Kishimoto will do that same thing he did in the Naruto : Retreive Sasuke Arc with the Curse Mark Crew. You know, where it looked like Neji died there and he got all melodramatic?

I loved Neji as well but with his noble death. Personally, I think it was played right. Kishimoto reminded us about the “curse” that the Hyuga branch family had to deal with. And even if Neji was the last of the branch family carrying the curse, I do wish he was still alive and that he and Tenten could have become a couple. And form that, we could have seen the ending of the new Hyuga – a different Hyuga for sure. There were many tears that were shed for him and deep down; The Genius Ninja Neji Hyuga will forever be remembered.
