Netflix’s Interest in Producing Anime

So Netflix, everyone knows about the service, and those that have a subscription already know that they have a great collection of different movies and shows spanning from the oldies to the new ones. On top of this, there have been many different anime series such as Bleach, Fairy Tail, Seven Deadly Sins, Knights of Sidonia and many more on the service, more are being added.

From my own experience, when Netflix does something, it usually turns out pretty good. The original quote “We’re hopeful that we’ll over time make a great Bollywood show, make a great anime show”.

I’m subscribed to Netflix, so hearing this, especially from Netflix makes me happy to see such a huge service pushing through into new media such as anime. The fact that they’re even thinking about it makes me happy as I’m sure they’ll deliver soon enough. Netflix is definitely looking into content with large global appeal, and anime is watched everywhere.

Anyways, with such news what do you guys think about this? Go ahead and comment down below and tell us your opinion.

They are getting good anime into Netflix. I’ve re watched Naruto on it. I watched one anime called Seven Deadly Sins but it’s not my taste. They even have Pokémon on Netflix. That’s considered an Anime right?

I actually really liked Seven Deadly Sins, I didn’t think it would be something I’d like but somehow I can’t wait for more. Well, sure you can say that. The good thing about Netflix is that you can change the language or subtitle with such ease, just a click of the button. If only they had as many as other anime websites, I could spend my whole day on there lol.

Agreed, for them to get into anime would be awesome to see. I wouldn’t even mind for some authors to even approach Netflix with their manga for them to work on it. Would create alot of competition between networks.

Is it possible for Netflix to continue the BLEACH anime if TV Tokyo & the other Japanese production company decide not to continue it?

Honestly I would love this for this to come to fruition, I would love Netflix to take Bleach onboard and just progress it. However, I think there would be a lot of problems with how the show is published and the popularity of the show in other markets. Honestly, I don’t think Japan or asia is their biggest market right now, and picking up a big anime such as Bleach would be gold for its popularity. It would certainly help Netflix get more Japanese people, but the otherway would not see Bleach get a lot of publicity. Also the production team, voice team etc would have to be managed well enough etc. Plus I’m sure the current publisher and producer of the anime wouldn’t let such a huge show off their hands just like that.
