Bleach 577 finally releases Zaraki’s Nozarashi Shikai to which he is quickly and swiftly able to destroy the upcoming meteorite headed to destroy Seireitei. Gremmy himself begins happy to see Zaraki and everyone else die then notices how big of a grin Zaraki has to which he himself is happy to face something he has never done so before, he destroys it swiftly.
Bleach 577 begins as everyone notices the upcoming meteorite, even Bazz-B notices this to be a bad idea and that Gremmy has messed up. Nakk Le Vaar notices that he must not be playing with a full deck of cards, they should have killed him when they had the chance. Everyone else mentions that the Shakonmaku will protect them and the meteorite will be destroyed.
However it just comes through as the mass of the meteorite is just too great to be destroyed like that. Everyone begins to panic mentioning that they’re all going to die, Jugram mentions for them to protect Juha Bach (Yhwach). Gremmy mentions if for example somehow he was able to kill him, the Meteorite would still be there as it’s already a reality.
Everyone there will vanish, he will be the last one standing, just as he imagined. This is what it means to be at one’s wits end he mentions. However at this point in time, Zaraki has one of the most craziest and sadistic smiles I’ve seen before. Zaraki mentions that he’s not at wits end, the way he see’s it is that he’s already run out of tricks. Zaraki jumps up with his sword.
He gets close to it, calls out “Drink, Nozarashi!” (Swallow in other translations). We see Yachiru remember the first time they had met, as she wasn’t scared and none of them had a name, however it seems that now they are! Zaraki strikes the meteorite in the sky to which lots and lots of pieces fall off.
Thus Gremmy is shocked as he stares at Zaraki’s fantastic new Shikai, Nozarashi. It’s a massive sword which is very similar to Ichigo’s sword however it is stopped at the end, just like Ichigo’s sword it doesn’t have a place where he can hold it correct and only has a cloth, very similar to that of Ichigo’s. Nevertheless, it’s a massive sword as seen in the image above! Bleach 577 ends here.
A great and fantastic chapter, we’ve finally seen Zaraki’s awesome Shikai, however one more stage waits for us for him to show his full power, however it’s not as likely. Nevertheless, I’m extremely happy to see Zaraki’s Shikai and how impressive it is. Can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 578 to see the fight continue!

Most likely. With Zaraki ‘ s personality, he is always hungry for battle. So probably. I mean. Retsu’s Minazuki can probably kill any boy she cuts, and when she learned healing techniques, and Minazuki can heal to. So Nozarashi is probably a Melee type.

I like how you said that Zaraki is always hungry for battle and how it relates to drinking/swallowing, definitely a link there. Yeah if we only knew a little more about Retsu’s techniques we could have most likely been able to explain how her techniques and bankai helped her, even if I didn’t see her bankai that well.

Yup! That Shikai Looks Like One Will Be Used In 16th Century Europe for executions. Still sad that Retsu it now officially dead. But hopefully during a flash back they will show why she became so powerful and feared.

I think it’s more like of Ichigo’s Shikai but just half and alot bigger. if you take a closer look i think it has no hilt like Ichigos. Also, the handle has bondage all-over it like that of Ichigos. And the shape of the blade is more like of Ichigos where the blade is like a scythe on the bottom. Also the style if I may add. In my own opinion, kubo is emphasizing here that Zaraki is always same or par with Ichigo being a rival in power and strength. Even though Zaraki’s Shikai is like half of Ichigos although bigger (maybe), well i think it’s fine that way to show the power of Zaraki can match that of Ichigos.
We all know that Zaraki has overflowing reatsu from the start like that of Ichigo so no wonder that his shikai is like of Ichigos. Now the question is “Can Zaraki turn it back to it’s sealed state? or will it be like Ichigo that’s always in Shikai?”. I can’t wait what his Bankai will be. Zaraki likes direct fight with no kido or tricks in between. so my guess is that one of it abilities is to increase zaraki’s fighting strikes. anyone who dares try to block his strikes will be cut in half together with his zanpakutou. I’m just happy to finally see Zaraki with a smooth sharp sword, even though I hate it shape. man very strange shape indeed

Well most likely true. This zanpakuto seems to me like the most powerful Melee type Zanpakuto. While Yamamoto Has The Strongest Elemental Type Zanpakuto, and Retsu has the strongest Kido Type Zanpakuto. And the shape did surprise me. It looks like a battle Axe to me.

i wonder if it will ever go back to it sealed form again or he will carry it around like how espanda 5 (Nnoitra Gilga) used to carry his huge zanpankotou. but my guess is yes since it has a realese command, which is drink or swallow in nozarashi.unlike zangetsu which is just zangetsu.
i was looking closer to the picture and i seen that his zan is not as sharp and smooth as i previously thought. i wonder if thats its true form or is just how the picture drawn

im with you there nick.in terms of reiatsu between zaraki and ichigu, zaraki is much stronger. remember that a bankai hallowfied ichigo barely defeated jrimjow but a a bankai-less and sealed zanpakutou state zaraki defeated Nnoitra Gilga with ease. ichigo couldnt defeate Ulquiorra Cifer until his hallow took over. we dont no much how powerful his full hallofication since he only fought Ulquiorra Cifer, my guess is his full hallofication is at the same level with the espanda 1 whom was simply defeated by shunhiu shikai. so if zaraki’s reiatsu in the old arc was stronger than a bankia hallowfied ichigo, imagine how powerfull he is now that his sleeping reiatsu has been awaken and also now he has his shikai at his side.
ichigo is super strong but his reiatsu is not strong enough to be at the same level as zaraki.

Yup! Couldn’t word it better! Though with Ichigo ‘ s inner hollow I consider it as strong as Halibel I’m my opinion. Because Stark never was a Vasto Lorde. His Reiatsu was so large he was already an Arrancar. While others like Barragon, Halibel and Ulquiorra were Vasto Lorde. Any Arrancar that were Vasto Lorde before becoming Arrancar are at Senior Captain level. Or Espada rank 0 to 4. 5 and under Espada were adjuchas like Grimmjow. I believe Neliel and maybe Noritora were Vasto Lorde. And Ichigo ‘ s inner hollow is stronger than Ulquiorra and maybe Halibel and Barragon. So your probably right.

You have to remember tho the quincy in ichigo was holding a majority of his power back and trying to supress his power and what we have seen so far is what he couldnt supress. So in terms of power they are most likely on par.

Oh definitely! The origin of Ichigo ‘ s powers come from 3 very powerful individuals. First was Isshin. Very powerful Senior Captain level Shinigami. Than White. The very powerful Vasto Lorde that would have defeated Isshin if Masaki didn’t help. Than Masaki. Who I my opinion is very powerful Senior Captain level Quincy. I believe she is equal to Isshin. And the fact that Ichigos Blut Vene stopped Ywhach ‘ s Spirit Weapon is very impressive.

I’m not sure if Ichigo reiatsu is weaker than Zarakis
If you remember Zangetsu sealed his powers so he only could use a little part of them.
When he went Vastolorde he just released some of it; Ichigo and his inner hollow are not different entities. His inner hollow and zangetsu are his powers/reiatsu.

I think that may have been the point of the sword, to be ugly and massive just like Zaraki, to not be able to cut so easily, however with sheer force Zaraki himself can cut using his own power.

I admit that I don’t like Zaraki’s shikai. Way too big if you ask me and it’s a little similar to Ikkaku’s bankai. Still, it was epic to see him blow up that meteorite. Hopefully the fight continues for a while so that he also gets to use his Bankai!

True, that is going to be a tough enemy to defeat! Personally, I’m guessing that Ichigo is going to have to take him down, but maybe Zaraki can go beat the Lieutenant. Still, at the rate that things are going, I’m guessing that every captain will only get one big fight. So this could be Zaraki’s final fight of the series. Hopefully not though!

Well most likely not. This 2nd Invasion of the Seireitei starts on the first day of the nine days that the world will be destroyed. And this day has just started because the sun is coming up. So nine days I bleach is like years for us. So I doubt the Captains or SternRitter are gonna have just one big battle.

It’s just hard to picture anymore fights for them. As it is, assuming that each Captain/Major character’s first fight is 3-5 chapters…it’ll be about a year or two before the first day is over. That’s why I’m guessing that Ichigo’s going to end this on day 1

Hmm I like it, it’s way too big and to some it’s ugly, I think that may be the point in which Kubo was going for. Zaraki is hell of a guy and his main sword was already battered and bruised so much, and now even his Shikai, it seems really used and not even smooth.
I think that this is just his personality, with the amount of power he has now, it has grown significantly. So yeah it looks impressive and as Zaraki is a big dude, his Shikai would trump many others.

You mean like different techniques of Zanpakuto Or His Reiatsu color? Cause his Reiatsu is golden yellow and takes the form of a skull. I’m not sure Nozarashi has any different techniques than the one that allowed Zaraki to destroy that meteorite. Because Zaraki Himself hates all those tricks and annoying techniques. If Nozarashi is anything like Zaraki it’s Shikai probably won’t have any flashy of different techniques. But I could be worng. Renji ‘ s Bankai has many different techniques and his zanpakuto is a Melee type.

to me zarakis shikai looks like an oversize butchers knife, which in my opinion is fitting to zarakis delusional psychotic personality, a lot of similarities to zangetsus shikai,
as for reatsu levels i think they are more or less evenly matched, remember ichigo didnt have acess to his full power, he did not even have his shiningami powers,so now in this arc is the perfect time to make those sort of comparisons as for ichigos vasto lordes form, im pretty sure its at senior captain level,remember a less powerful version almost killed byakuya and beat the shit out of juha bach in zanpakuto rebellion, also it defeated ullquiora with jus brute strength and a cero, we dnt even wat its most powerful technique is, i hope ichigo can still turn into a hollow but with control over it

well if they fight it will be a draw again. anyway thats a argument for another day. nozarashi will enhance zaraki strikes force like ikkaku’s bankai and Sajin Komamura’s bankai. it will be very diffucult to stop his attack let alone when he decide to use two hands. no one so far has manage to survive zaraki’s strikes when he uses two hands, well i no he only fought like that against Nnoitra Gilga but imagine that attack with his new zanpakutou. im not sure if its going to slow him down a beat. but zaraki is a big man he will do just fine.
zaraki enjoys being cut and cutting others, im not sure if the more excited he gets will make his zanpakutou more powerful or not.

i think that its more likely a powerful upgrade like tensa zangetsu gave ichigo speed, it further enhances his already insane power, but for sum reason i think that he will be able to shoot reatsu from his blade like his kendo strike but witout 2 hands.i also still think that he will cause huge storms,if his opponent is strong enough,im sure his zanpakuto has taught him a few tricks,i wonder wat his inner world looks like
as for ichigo i think so too, i think we will have a similar scenario when he first fought zaraki, he gts beaten to a bloody pulp to make the story interesting

A name I haven’t seen in a while 😛 welcome and your idea is similar to mine, although I haven’t gone as far as for Zaraki to absorb that energy to use later, however seems like a good idea, even if Zaraki is strong as he is now.
On second thought, what if this is how Zaraki became strong in the first place whilst fighting Unohana? What if the blocking/attacking/etc she did was somehow feeding Zaraki’s power and zanpakuto to allow him to get stronger? You could be on to something here 😛

Hmm I tried watching Shaman King when I was younger but never seemed to have the time for it, I don’t think I will have any now, and so I don’t think I know about that sword, nevertheless the idea of using blood/or fighting as a type of way of getting stronger for Zaraki is fun and is the best way for him anyways. That’s a good theory sunite, quite impressive. I actually heard someone even suggest that since we didn’t see nozarashi shikai form before Zaraki destroyed the meteorite, maybe the reason why it huge like this is bcos of all the power it swallowed from the meteorite. however I can’t stop to think that if indeed nozarashi had that kind of ability of absorbing ppl’s power, Zaraki will find his zanpakutou boring, weak and cowardly for borrowing ppl’s power to help him win fights. Since Zaraki only believes in his power and his power alone, all he want is for his zanpakutou to enhance the abilities that he already have not to add other ppl’s powers into his
Zaraki once told ichigo that he is a coward for borrowing zangetsu’s power to fight. I found it high unlikely that his zan has such an ability to absorb.
Here is my 2 theories. 1. Maybe nozarashi is a sickly-pale looking spirit or a skeleton(Zaraki use to look like this b4 he he got a name), which Likes to swallow or drink its victims blood during a fight to become a healthy and fit looking spirit(his zanpakutou is always starving for war and blood, if he doesn’t fight for a long time it’s becomes rusty, weak n sickly looking), the more healthy it’s becomes through drinking the blood the more powerful and sharper it blade becomes. Do you remember how dirty boots used to be powerful the more dirtier they become during the fullbringer arc? Yes and the more nozarashi becomes bloody the more powerful it’s becomes.
2. Or instead of swallowing or drinking its victim’s blood, it’s actually swallows his reiatsu. Zaraki once said to ichigo that even though your reiatsu was good enough to forge that sword of yours but it’s not strong enough to cut me. So right now we are seeing unsmooth nozarashi bcos it’s has not been properly forged since Zaraki has not yet removed his eye patch to allow his sword to swallow enough reiatsu to be more sharper and powerful. Zaraki always likes to make things difficult for him when he fights, so my guess is Even nozarashi has the same personality. It start with the dull blade and becomes sharper as the battle progress depending on how much spiritual pressure Zaraki allows it to drink or swallows.

as for absorbin reatsu i think u guys might have a point, remember wen zaraki was fighting nnoitra he mentioned that the latters reatsu was sharpening his blade,so in a sense he might be able to absorb reatsu bt only of a high level oppnent,tho i dnt think thats how he defeated retsu,i think its because zaraki never trained after he became captain coz he feared hed kill his opponents too fast,hence he neglected his sword for over a 1000 years preventin him from gtn any stronger,so when he finally “trained” wit retsu he gt acces to his latent powers and these powers are still growing unfortunately for the quincies

We can tell the Tite is a big fan of Zaraki and he wants him to be a main character but he has held his power back and it’s been like 10 years we have all been waiting for this moment and am sure his power is the most leatheal of them all. i would like to see zaraki parents, i guess they were super powerful and very important. to protect their child from enemies, they run away or killed themselves so zaraki could grow up as no one and a homeless child with no history and name. or he was so powerful that his reiatsu crashed them to death

Especially the end…I cant get over Zaraki’s Shikai…its awesome. I think Kenpachi is going 2 end up fighting Jugram Haschwald & because of how ungodly powerful Jugram is….we will finally see Zaraki’s Bankai!!!

I doubt Zaraki has Bankai. I mean he just achieved his Shikai. So he doesn’t have Bankai. Will he get one, ya is will. If he wants to be stronger. Now him fighting Jugram I don’t think so. Jugram is most likely gonna fight Shunsui. And Zaraki will fight Ywhach. But now I bet Gremmy really can’t do anything else but release his Vollständig.

Me too Steve O. I think Ywhach is connected to Soul King somehow. Kinda like Jesus is the son of god. So maybe Ywhach is the son of Soul King? And when you look into the Quincy Folklore about Ywhach, the special number is 9. 990, 90, 9. Just nine. In the bible the special number is 7. Bible said god created the World in 7 days. So maybe 1000 years ago when the Quincy lost the first 1000 year Blood War Yhawch, and 8 other Quincy Survivors escaped to the Seireitei in nine days. So maybe the Quincy and Shinigami have been somewhat together at one point. Just guessing and I watched an awesome Bleach review called the Captains table vol.3 in YouTube last night. It’s so cool I recommend you all to watch it and the three awesome reviewers. ;D

Zaraki new found power will prove all the difference in the final stages on the arc. shunsui knows how powerful Zaraki and even the old man knew. He is a raw talent this Zaraki, no bankia no special training and look how scary and notorious he is!!!!!! As for the Soul King I bet he has a hand in all of this. Don’t forget azzien is still lurking in the shadows. He might cos the arc to side track a bit or offer some powers to his once friends

Can’t wait 2 see Zaraki without the eye patch & at full power with his bankai unleashed…but everyone knows that Ichigo is going 2 end up being the most powerful character in the end so I really wanna see what he’s learned…his new power & his dual zanpaktos…..and I completely agree Satouf…there’s no chance in hell that they would just show Aizen strapped 2 a chair & have that be all we see of him.He’s gonna play some kinda important role in this war!!!

Here’s a somewhat possible dark turnout…Shunsui Is on the verge of death at the hands of Jugram Haschwald but is saved at the last moment by Unahonna!!! Then 2gether Jugram is systematically destroyed by both Unahonna & Zaraki’s Bankai! Ichigo in a very emotional battle defeats Uryu turning him back 2 the good side but much like how kaname died at the hands of Aizen as he saw the light…Ywhach kills Uryu 4 failing & 2 gain complete power.Completely enraged & at full power(Shinigami,Hollow,Quincy & Fullbringer)Ichigo engages Ywhach in a long epic battle with Ywhach gaining the upper hand & just b4 Ywhach is about 2 end Ichigo…”Boom”..Ywhach is completely incinerated… & Ichigo is shocked as the smoke clears & standing there is the true Antagonist of Bleach…The Soul King! Ichigo notices a presence by his right side b4 he attacks…non other than Souske Aizen!!!

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha wow man quite imagination u got there. at this point anything is possible. im not sure if i will enjoy aizen more as an allay or an enemy.plus we still need to see his bankai also i think aizen’s bankai is at the level of madara of naruto, madara want to activate the limbo and i think aizen’s bankai will put everyone near it into limbo. and dont forget urahara-sana and lady yoruichi. those two to me they ARE still a mystry. especially yoruichi. i dont think gremmy will be strong enough to force a bankai out of zaraki, if he has one.

Personally i don’t see Aizen as the main antagonists anymore. If anything i believe he will find a way to get his zanpakuto back and use his Bankai to try and defeat everyone but than either Zaraki or Yhawch kill him. I don’t see him surviving.

Wicked, but am sure the story has many twist and turns and this arc is going to be long. Soul King is key to all of this as we know nothing of him. We need a few chapters on him. Do u guys think Ishiin will come to soul society?! He is powerful enough

Urahara those seem to know nearly everything and knows most of the captains and their pasts. Plus we don’t even know how strong his bankai is. He is very sneaky.

Nozarashi has just turned out to be really crude. And even though some say it fits Zaraki’s personality, I beg to disagree and am terribly dissapointed. There were so many ways Kubo could have taken this, and the levels of ‘epic’ could have gone over nine thousand, trust me. It’s literally like a halve of Ikkaku’s Bankai, and just plain dumb. He didn’t have to make it a Kido type, but he just went and made it a huge ass butchering tool. I swear to god, after all the hype and years spent wondering about Zaraki’s zanpaktou, he drops this ugly grenade on us. The moment I read ‘Drink/Swallow’ my heart literally jumped in suspense, and then after the comet was destroyed, he had that thing on his shoulder. Like I get he is the bloodthirsty, malicious, psychopathic good guy, but Kubo literally butchered it for me. Pun intended.

Ya his fights are always interesting to me. He doesn’t completely relay on his Zanpakuto. Because he has many different abilities he gained from experimental stuff. Similar to Sui-Feng who uses Shunko and her Zanpakuto.

I’m still not completely sold on Mayuri’s crazy “Sun” looking outfit yet but knowing him I’m sure it’ll serve its purpose!
