Bleach 520, possibly another great chapter to blow me away this week. We find out a great deal, Ichigo himself is damn important to the Soul King, we also find out that Shunsui is the next in line to replace Yamamoto as the Captain Commander. We also find out that Shunsui wants to teach Zaraki Kenpachi the art of war, possibly so he could gain his Shikai and Bankai!! Unohana is also refereed as the first Kenpachi in today’s chapter!!!
Bleach 520 begins with Nanao knocking at Shunsui’s door, she comes into his room while he’s reading a piece of paper, she starts to speak when Shunsui says her name. He then states that this could be the last time they’ll meet. In the piece of paper, it mentions that “Kyouraku Jirou Souzousa Shunsui” is the person to next be appointed as the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 and the captain of the 1st Division, he says that he’s sorry.
At Kirinji’s castle, Ichigo is counting up from 0 to 100 while he put himself down in the water for as long as he can. At the 93rd second, he jumps out kicking one of Kirinji’s helpers in the face. Kirinji calls Ichigo an idiot for not being able to do it, Kirinji asks if when he was a kid, if his parents told him to stay in the water for 100 seconds. Ichigo replies saying what kind of parents would do such a thing to their parents.
Kirinji asks Kazuo and Kazuhiro to hold him down again, at this point, Ichigo keeps on fighting both of them. Kirinji says for them to wait, Kirinji then smacks Ichigo on the face. Kirinji realizes that Ichigo’s been healed. If he wasn’t he’d already been dead with the shot to the face.
Kirinji tells Ichigo that he’s done all he could do there, there is nothing more he could do but go to the next palace. From nowhere, Renji appears, he states that he’s coming too. Kirinji quickly smacks him one in the stomach, a large wave of water flies off, fortunately Renji didn’t go away flying, Kirinji also figures out that Renji’s hand is trembling after the shot to the stomach.
Kirinji states that if he can resist his punch that he’s fine. Both Renji and Ichigo get ready, Kazuo and Kazuhiro gets ready and launch both of them away to the next palace. Kirinji states that this could have been hard on Kazuo and Kazuhiro, they are told to take of their cloths as they’re started to degrade away. Both their bodies are starting to produce a large number of scars.
If they weren’t wearing those special protective cloths made with super spiritual thread, they would have rot and explode because of the super recovery water. It’s incredible that Renji and Ichigo could stay naked in the Skeleton Hell and Blood Pond Hell, the two describe them as amazing. Kirinji’s expectations have been exceed, especially by Ichigo.
We notice Kirinji’s hand as it’s bruised, the moment he was hit by Kirinji’s punch, Ichigo automatically stroke back and left a crack in his hand. Kirinji used to be called the Flash-Step Tenjirou because of his step, but he doesn’t think he’s gotten dull. Kirinji thinks Ichigo’s got skills and can see why The Soul King has been attracted by him.
Shunsui is at the 46th Chamber to ask if he can have 2 Vice Captains, he mentions that Okikiba will be in charge of practical business and Nanao will follow him, they know how to do their jobs. Shunsui quickly mentions that every captain has the right to appoint and dismiss any of their vice captains, he uses this to his point to get Nanao to come with him.
Shunsui mentions his first job as a Captain-Commander, it is to teach Zaraki Kenpachi the art of killing! Basically for him to learn to obtain his Shikai and Bankai! Shunsui mentions that Byakuya and the others went to the Reiokyu, and Zaraki’s powers are extremely important, the way he currently is no good for them.
Some of them mention no, if Zaraki becomes too powerful, they won’t be able to stop his revolt. He mentions that even Yamamoto tried to teach Zaraki the art of killing but it was stopped just after one day. Shunsui mentions that they cannot go through another invasion like it did, they have to train Zaraki on how to kill properly, they shut up after Shunsui mentions that even they cannot protect themselves.
Shunsui seems to have gained their consent. Shunsui brings an important person forward to help. He mentions that he’ll leave Zaraki to Captain Unohana, he dismisses this name and just called her First Kenpachi! Yachiru Unohana! By Kenpachi, it’s said that they are the strongest of Shinigami’s! Bleach 520 ends here!
What a damn great chapter! Bleach is getting even more epic, who ever suspected that Unohana was ever the First Kenpachi? And that Kirinji, a Zero Division Member would get hurt himself after just one punch from Ichigo! Bleach is exploding my mind! Can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 521! It’s going to be awesome!

Saw it coming, not that Unohana was a Kenpachi, I actually suspected Isshin, but that she’s insanely powerful. I’m gonna theorize that as a Kenpachi, she totally pownd SS, then perhaps had an epiphany, and decided to turn herself over to healing, dropping the name. Also, as others have mentioned, rather unlikely that Zaraki will be taught bankai, you can’t be taught that, you have to come to an agreement with your sword. Zaraki’s is either dead or not listening anymore. Refer his battle with Nnoitora, the finishing technique that he used was the one Genryuusai taught him, a kendo move. Unohana uses kendo.

OMG just read the latest manga and completely blew me away just remebering the Yachiru was the only name that kenpachi knew and gave to his vice captain and that captain unohana was the first kenpachi i alway wondered why i loved her so much lol… however the newly appointed head captain is goin to teach thee Kenpachi Zaraki BANKAI!!!!! he will virtually be indestructable i always thought the kenpachi was so strong without a bankai and could even match byakuya’s bankai blow for blow they have to bring the anime back to life now they cant leave us loyal viewers hanging like this.

Exactly, a lot of people are getting frustrated that sites are mentioning Yachiru, and it seems that you’ve got it nailed in the bulls eyes, and yes Captain Unohana was never on my Kenpachi list but it’s fantastic to know such a fact!! DAMN! Mind=BLOWN! Yeah, it might not be Bankai, but it could be how he fights, improving how he kills and how to make it more efficient for himself because he plays with his prey, he’s a Kenpachi, he’s possibly the strongest captain with Unohana and Shunsui, Ukitaka and other more powerful captains

As explained by owen, Yachiru Unohana and Yachiru Kusajishi have the same name but are not connected. Zaraki gave Yachiru K that name because he knew Unohana had the same name, but he might have thought that might be dead so gave it to her… They are not mother and daughter… They just have the same name…

Yeah, at first i wondered why Kirinji look down to Unohana healing ability and and everyone are scare at her (including Zaraki are fear of her) because she was the first kenpachi that basically good at combat than healing that’s speciality of 4th division. I thought it was Renji that gave Kirinji the bruise on his hand after punching him in the stomach. It showed Renji’s hand trembling right after the punch.

It probably is the case that kirinji was referring to ichigo in both instances, its just confusing at first because he punches ichigo and renji with his right hand. Renji is still a badass for taking the hit though, seeing as he clearly wasnt fully healed.
AND YEAH. That just seems like a deal breaker. Inoue could heal anyone, but that would just mess with the plot.

just read it yourself and it will be obvious that the reason Renji took that Punch so Easilly is because Kirinji’s hand was messed up from Ichigo just instinctively flinching against the punch to the face

Renji and Zaraki could both wake up faster than Byakuya because Byakuya had his Bankai stolen in the battle. His own Bankai was then used against him in battle and he used his Shekai form to protect Ranji and Rukia (among others).
He sustained a L-O-T of damage in that battle!

Wow!! So much is going on it’s awesome. Renji and Ichigo are healed and on their way to the next palace. Lord knows what’s next on their agenda. Kyoraku’s named Captain Commander, but then again that was pretty much expected. For him to teach Zaraki to release his shikai and bankai will be ridiculously awesome. And finally, the First Kenpachi is revealed to be none other than Captain Unohana… Yachiru Unohana. To be the most powerful Shinigami and have the level of control that she has achieved… I’m at a loss for words when it comes to describing how scary she can really be.

And after Zaraki and Ichigo, named his Vice-Captain Yachiru cause the looks up to Unohana as being the most powerful Shinigami. Thats why Yamamoto told her not to fight the Stern Ritter cause if Juha Bach defeated her, then they loose one of there best fighters.

Renji isn’t completely healed because he shacked when Kirinji smacked him, yeah Shunsui was on my list to be next CC… Yachiru Unohana will be the one to teach Zaraki about his Shikai and Bankai… I know right, she’s suppose to be the strongest out of all of them!! Zaraki doesn’t have a shikai… he doesn’t even know the name of his zanpakutou so he can’t even enter that Shikai or Bankai form… it’s likely that Zaraki is going to learn Bankai from Unohana… hopefully Grimmjow does learn the second release, it’ll be interesting to see he’s release…

He doesn’t. For Ichigo to obtain his constant Shikai he needed to learn Zangetsu’s name. You said Kenpachi does not have a connection with his katana. His Zanpakutou is sealed as releasing it is impossible without that connection.

When Ichigo first got his powers his Zanpakutou was sealed, it looked like a normal Zanpakutou, it was only bigger because of his immense Reiatsu. During the Shattered Shaft training Urahara said Ichigos sword is nothing but a piece of metal and there’s no Reiatsu in it, that’s why it brakes so easily. It was not Shikai until he first said the name “Zangetsu”.

Actually, the way Ichigo learned Bankai may also be suitable for Kenpachi. If they use that device Urahara invented he may actually obtain Bankai. While I doubt Kyoraku was referring to that it’s a plausible scenario that the device will get used again, maybe Yoruichi or Urahara himself will step in with that idea.

I have often wondered if Yachiru Kusajishi ( his Lt ) actually IS his sword. I remember that in the manifestation arc, where all the swords became personalities, Kenpachi’s sword and Kusajishi’s sword were missing.

i really think that there is a mistake in the powers of characters in the anime began when i knew that uluqiurra shivar is no 4 WHAT THE HECK !!!!!!
the dude blew ichigo mask with one and only one cero !!!! and Kyoraku is cutting primera’s cero with only shikai, even if you said that he hid his power from Isen soske he only hid his second form because he became ultimate hollow and here is the super ultra awesome part … he said that hes sacrificed the super power only to became able to rebuild himself XD you see the dude is stronger than Izen or at least he was able to kill him before the hogyoku awaken and take las noches for him and if you said Izen zanbakto I will use Izen word the shinigami battle is reiatsu battle that zanbakto wont work on super ultimate powerfull hollow like uluqiurra sssssssssooooooo ichigo should be the captin commander !!!
oh and by the way I cant wait to see how that senshumaru shutara can help ichigo I think she is the most cool person in zero division !! 🙂

The stronger they are the higher the rank? no, giving a higher rank to a power freak is crazy!!! giving rank to a noble and acknowledged person is better! I can confidently say that Unohana is a lot more powerful than Shunsui… but she’s not getting the Captain Commander rank. There are specific reasons to why a person who is more stronger than another one cannot always have a higher rank… Some of what you said is a little flawed, you might need to think about how Bleach works or maybe watch it again, because Ulquiorra might have the second release, but doesn’t mean that he’s more powerful than the others.. they have more knowledge and better skills, it’s not always about power…
Senshumaru Shutara seems like somewhat evil-ish, she seems like she was a part of the research department or something as she mentioned she was is Mayuri’s room before… yeah can’t wait 😀

Actually, while I agree on Shinigami ranking I believe Espada were ranked purely based on the amount of reiatsu. Barragans combat ability was definitely higher than Stark or Yami, yet he was Segunda Espada. That’s also why Yami was 0 in Resurrection and 10 without it.

Hmm, thats interesting, never thought of that before, that means that Ulquiorra’s Segunda Etapa could be stronger then Grimmjow’s (if he does reveal to have one), but hopefully I want it to be stronger for the sake that he wan’t to kick all Quincies ass for imprisoning Espada’s and Hollows…

Ichigo is nowhere near Captain Commander status. First of all, he’s still just a kid. Secondly, he’s only had his powers for about 2 yrs. He doesn’t even have an ounce of the experience it takes to lead the Gotei 13. He’s a very powerful and skilled warrior. There’s no question about that, but to base the rankings on that criteria alone is ludicrous. Kyoraku is the smart choice. Over a thousand yrs of experience, skilled in the art of war, calm, cool and collective during stressful situations, respected and admired by his peers even the late Captain Commander Yamamoto. He has definitely earned his stripes.

Oh my God! Hey SOC rankings follower, I think this week’s 520 will beat all the manga chapters when it is ranked!
I was sure that Shunsui will be the next captain-commander, so I now feel kinda proud of myself 😀 Well, we don’t know much about him, but he’s old enough to be one of the original captains of the Divisions, so… I think blood will rain 😀
As for Ichigo, I was impressed with the way Kubo showed his power. The crack on Kirinji’s hand completely blew my mind!! Is that stupid Ichigo so much powerful that he’s able to do such damage to Kirinji?! Aaand, the mangapanda’s translation has the phrase about Soul King being eager to be beaten by Ichigo. What the fuck does it mean?!
Yachiru Unohana… I noticed Retsu written in brackets (ah, these things ” “) in the first Zero Division Chapter, like if Kirinji was kidding. But I didn’t think she has another name. Yachiru definitely refers to Kusajishi Yachiru, meaning Unohana’s Zaraki’s close friend (perhaps they come from the same neighborhood). And “Kenpachi” Unohana proves the spoiler 😀 So, is she going to teach Zaraki? Hopefully we’ll see her fight or something.

I was surprised to see how Ichigo’s improved with his feedback, even hurting a Zero Division member like that is a massive achievement, it might have been some kind of Quincy response because we’ve never seen something like that before..

so what you are saying is exactly true, I know ichigo is so young and maybe shunsui has alot more wisdom than him but remember ichigo always gain more power when the life of his friends is in danger that happened from the very begining when he was going to sacrifice himself to save his sisters the chapter when he gained his shinigami powers I mean look many shinigamis spent hundreds of years and only learned shikai but ichigo achived alot in only two years because he worry about every one he think that he needs him (thats why he reminds that arrancaru the holy mother) so he is so kind not like yamamoto he was going to kill rukia without hesitating or even asking…. anyway shunsui is not bad at all but I really think that ichigo worked hard so they must leave him a seat at least not the stranger traveller .

It’s okay 🙂 Getting stronger when his friends need him is Ichigo’s thing, he will always be there for his friends and family. Being the Captain Commander was never Ichigo’s goal, plus the Chamber 46 who ranked Shunsui the Captain Commander would never give an “outsider” (human) such a role. He might be the strongest, but to keep the Soul Society noble and carry on the generation, it’s better for Yamamoto’s pupils to take over after him, it’s how it always is… Referring to the seat thing you said, Substitute Shinigami isn’t really a large rank but still is worth it’s name of being a substitute, plus Ichigo himself is pushing the rank up 🙂
Aizen’s and Ulquiorra’s powers are hard to compare, both have way different powers, Aizen is more into illusions while Ulquiorra’s more about raw power…
Agree, there had to be a somewhat evil person within the Zero Division, although Senshumaru must not be all that evil since the Soul King could read if she’s got a different plot or not… yup those hands are pretty dangerous… haha I agree, Bleach is boss right now!

Well to me its makes sense why Unohana was the first Kenpachi and Squad 11 Captain. Cause 1000 years ago the Quinceis were all killed by the first generation Gotei 13 Captains. Juha said they were all nothing but blood thristy killers. I’m thinking he meant Yamamoto, Unohana, Jushiro, Shunsui and Kirinji and Senjumaru. Cause I’m getting the vibe that those two are very powerful and were part of the original Captains Osho too. I’m guessing that black Guy in the Zero Squad was the former Captain of Squad 7. But again I’m just guessing. I only said Kirinji is the first generation Captain of Squad 4 cause he’s far better at healing then Unohana. And maybe Yachiru U. became a healer cause during the Quincy Massacre she probably killed most Quinces excluding Yamamoto cause you’ve all seen his army of the dead. That’s why She and Jushiro looked so sad when Mayuri said the Vandenreich were Quincy. Plus Senjumaru said the Vandenreich are far more evil the Aizen is. Claiming that’s she caught and killed Quinces 1000 years ago. And yes Zaraki was always afraid of Unohana. Even if the current Captains don’t know that’s she’s the first Kenpachi, they still know how strong she is. The only ones that aren’t afraid of her are Zaraki, Mayuri, Yamamoto, Shinji and Riza. And Zaraki could be inlove with Unohana cause of there immense strength. Soifon admires Yoruichi and I love pairing them up! Its my favorite lesbian couple in Bleach. Shuuhei admires Kensei and I love that pairing too!! My favorite gay couple in Bleach! Anyway yeah Zaraki’s Zanpaktuo is always in Shikai. But there both clashing and never linked liked the should be. That’s why he lost against Royd. But he could have done something else to defeat him. AGAIN JUST GUESSING!!

Jushirou and Kyouraku couldn’t have been in the original Gotei 13. Remember. Yamamoto personally trained both of them in the first class of the Shinigami Academy. This would have been after the formal establishment of the Gotei 13 as a group.

Yamamoto said Shunsui Ans Jushiro were one of the original Gotei 13 Captains Unohana too. He thought of them as sons cause they become so powerful and manage to survive as being Captains for over 1000 years. Remember Yamamoto had a flash back 2100 years ago. He was the founder of a Academy named after him. Shunsui was a little kid back then. Then later he fought Chojiro when he used his Bankai and gave him that scar one his forhead. Then over 1000 years later he found the Gotei 13. Around that time was the Quincy Massacre and he also failed to kill Juha Bach with his Bankai. So i do believe Shunsui, Jushiro and Unohan were part of the original Gotei 13 Captains. Plus Jushiro and Shunsui call Unohana Sempai, so she’s over then those two. And First generation Kenpachi means she was Captain of Squad 11 1000 years ago. Zaraki is the 11th Kenpachi. I’m just going by years here. From the times I’m thinking the foundation of the Gotei 13 & Quincy Masses happened at the same time.

Cause Aizen feused with the Hokyoku which made him stronger then both Shinigami and Hollow. Without the it Aizen would still be powerful but not stronger then Unohana or Shunsui. With the Hokyoku he was able to defeat four Shinigami Captains, Four Vizards, and five Captain level Shinigami. Includes Kaname and Gin. As well as a high ranking Espada. Unohana during the Winter War was healing everyone cause Aizens threat wasn’t as bad as the Vandenreich. Back in the Soul Society arc Unohana discovered Aizen alive and he escaped cause even with Gin’s help Aizen didn’t want to fight Unohana.

Aizen’s Shikai and Bankai had already got both Unohana and Shunsui, if they were suppose to fight, it’s most likely that they would have lost because Aizen’s abilities with the Hogyoku would be multiplied a lot!

Aizen-taichou does state that his power is superior to other Shinigami. Even Gin says this. “People don’t fear Aizen-taichou because of Kyoka Suigetsu. It’s because each of his abilities is far far superior to that of others.”
During the last few scenes of his battle with Ichigo, Aizen-taichou does remark that “Even during my days in Soul Society, there was nobody who could compare to my powers”. It means that Aizen-taichou was more powerful than everyone else. Unohana & Kyoraku included. They would be powerful opponents, but in the end, Aizen-taichou WAS the strongest. Except Yama-jii of course.
However, Senjumaru only states that the Quincy are more EVIL than Aizen-taichou. She doesn’t say they are more POWERFUL.
In fact, even without Kyoka Suigetsu, and in a restrained condition, Aizen managed to warp Juha Bach’s sense of time in a matter of minutes. That speaks volumes about his abilities.
In my opinion. Aizen-taichou deserves to be Captain-Commander…. just joking! What I’m saying is, he’s strong enough to be one. In fact, judging from his confidence in Invading the Soul King’s palace, I would think he was powerful enough to defeat even the Zero Division. With the Hougyoku’s aid, that is. PLUS, we never saw his Bankai…God knows what powers his Bankai gave him…

Thats just because his Shikai makes him harder to defeat. Doesnt mean hes stronger the Shunsui Jushiro and Unohana. Plus the 8th Kenpachi Soya Azashiro siad Aiznes Zanpakuto has no effect on him at all. Just Aizen by himself is not as big of a threat as an Army of Powerful Quincy that steal Bankai and Arrancar/Quincy hybrids. Plus the only way to defeat Aizen is to touch his Zanpakuto before it can Hypnotize you. And Aizen only defeated 4 Gotei Captains, 4 Captain-Level Vizards, 5 other Captain-level Shinigami and one high-ranking Espada cause he frused with the Hokyoku. When he didn’t have it and Unohana discovered the truth, he escaped cause he knew even with his Zanpakuto and Gins help he couldn’t defeat Unohana. And i think the Vandenreich were testing the Soul Society with Aizen. To see if they could defeat him for them so it wouldn’t be so hard concuring Hueco Mundo. And if the Zero Squad didnt show up to fight Aizne only mrant hes not strong enough to cause a big threat like the Vandenreich. There’s only one Shinigami that thr Zero Squad had to defeat ws Azashiro Kenpachi. I dont believe he has potential to be Captain-Commander. But his Bankai will be deadly as fuck!!

Ok…so I won’t pretend to be an expert here…because I haven’t seen the OVAs, and I have NO idea who Soya Azashiro is (finding out now :D)… but I still have my reservations:
Aizen-taichou defeated everybody except Isshin, Urahara, Yoruichi and Ichigo WITHOUT the Hougyoku’s abilities…am I right? Because the initial battles don’t alter his form. In fact, until Yama-jii uses Hado # 96, we don’t even realize the Hougyoku is fused into his body.
Additionally, you have to negate Kyoka Suigetsu’s Hypnosis BEFORE the Shikai is activated, otherwise it doesn’t work. (I guess Gin explicitly uses the word BEFORE).
Besides, during the Soul Society Arc, he fled from the Library because he had to retrieve Urahara’s Hougyoku. I don’t think he fled because of Unohana. Agreed…Unohana can defeat Gin…but Gin explicitly says that “nobody in the Gotei 13 knew the counter to Kyouka SUigetsu, but they all thought they could defeat you… the only one who can defeat you is me”…meaning Aizen-taichou has to be stronger than Gotei 13 captains… except Yama-jii…
Also, when all of Soul Society is at risk, isn’t it stupid to hold back power to “test your abilities” on Aizen-taichou? If you end up dead…the point is defeated, right?
Thirdly, post-final fusion, his Reiatsu was off the charts. Pre-fusion, his Reiatsu was twice that of a normal captain (maybe Hitsugaya or someone). If stealing Yama-jii’s Bankai was tough for ordinary Stern Ritter, it would be the same for Aizen-taichou’s Bankai too, right? Plus, he indicated more than once that subjugating the Hougyoku isn’t simple…you have to be super-strong for that.
Fourthly, Aizen-taichou is also a Kido expert, so he can fight using Zanjutsu + Kidou. If he’s fast enough to keep up with Yoruichi, he’s fast enough for some Quincy too…
Agreed..his Bankai won’t be as strong as Zanka no Tachi…but it’ll be in close competition with Shunsui’s, Juushirou’s and Unohana’s.
In that sense, I don’t see how Zero Division members would fight Yama-jii’s Bankai. It’s ultimate in offense and defense. If your attacks don’t work, blades disappear into ashes and the Zanpakutou cannot be blocked…I guess even the Zero Division members would have a tough time facing Yama-jii…
Overall…I’m quite excited with the new developments in the previous few weeks…but I guess there are a few logical imbalances too…

Plus… I don’t think Aizen-taichou is stupid enough to Invade the Soul King’s palace if he’s not sure of victory. We have to accept the fact that he’s the second smartest fellow in the series after Urahara, and the third most knowledgeable after Shunsui and Unohana.
So overall… he has the skills, zanpakuto shikai+bankai, excessive reiatsu, kidou mastery, shunpo excellence, wisdom, cunning, decision-making/logical thinking and expertise required for the post of Captain-Commander.
Of course, I’m fine with Shunsui as CC, because he’s still my second-favorite after Aizen-taichou and Urahara (both in 1st place). He’s also old enough to become one…
Just saying…if Aizen-taichou wasn’t evil, he’d have made a good candidate. We shouldn’t forget his days at Soul Society, when he was a model Shinigami whom practically all of Soul Society admired.
Also… I’d be happy if somebody could clarify my doubt about Unohana’s Zanpakutou (see post somewhere below)

I do like your respect for Aizens power. But remember that Aizen was feused with the Hokyoku at the Beginning of the Winter War. So i was using the Hokyokus power while fighting Kisuke Yoruichi and Isshin. It made him so powerful cause his Shinigami powers were feused with his inner Hollow powers. And Every Shinigami has a Inner Hollow. Its there Sins. Like Hollow have inner Shinigami. Aka Arrancars. And i do believe some Stern Ritter have the power to steal Aizens Bankai. Like Shunsuis Quincy rival with the glasses, mustach and Reishi Pistol Spirit Weapon. Hes strong enough to shot off Shunsuis fucking eye! Like Jushiro Quincy rival too. And Unohana is the most powerful Shinigami in history. Other then Yamamoto. So i dont think Aizen is stronger then them again hes just really hard to defeat. But i think Juha Bach has and elite group of Quincys powerful enough to rival both Aizen and the Zero Squad. And Azashiro Kenpachi has a Bankai that fusions himself with anything, living, dead, or any state of matter. He used his Bankai to keep watch on the Soul Society. By feusing with the air he sees hears and can kill anything with a simple glance or hand motion. Thats why Aizens Kyouka Suigestu has no power cause Azashiro can see everything he’s doing and can easily know where Aizen was. I will say Aizen has potential cause Juha wanteded him to be a Special War Powers. Cause his Kyouka Suigestu is hard to came by. Plus Aizen is a Shunpo Master and he can out run Ichigo using Bankai and Shinji whos also a Shunpo Master. But both Soifon and Yoruichi are both faster then him cause they both managed to capture him cause he couldn’t find there presents with there Shunpo. His also both Kido Master and Hakuda Master and Zanjustu Master but remember that wont be enough to defeat the more powerful Quincy. Like Royd Loyd managed to defeat Zaraki effortlessly.

Also about Unohana’s Zanpakuto Minazuki takes the sealed form of a Nodachi, which is longer then an average Katana. Perfect for Kendo. Its Shikai takes the form of a large green one-eyed manta ray like creature that can fly and form bird like feet to land. It can hold up to 12 people in its stomach and its stomach acids can heal very bad or minor injuries. But sense we found out that Unohana is the first Kenpachi, im thinking that healing injuries is just an after effect cause im thinking it can become scary as fuck and kil a fuck-load of poeple, turning its healing abilities into a killing machine. And Aizen is more powerful then nearly all the Gotei 13 Captains except Unohana, Shunsui and Jushiro. And Yama-ji.

Cause Ichigos in hollow was trying to get out and control Ichigos body. Inoue Santen Kenshu don’t heal but reverse what happened. Like changing what happens and turning back time.

You’re just wrong about one thing in this. Like Ichigo, Kenpachi has too much reiatsu to be able to fully control it so his Zanpakuto is always in constant release; he already has his Shikai. He’s just never tried to communicate with his Zanpakutou so he doesn’t know the name of it. That’s all.
All in all, a good chapter. Now we know why everyone always obeys Unohana!

Yeah, but Zaraki has tried to communicate but never able to hear the name of the zanpakutou, plus we’ve never seen him depend on his zanpakutou to give him power before like how Ichigo depends on Zangetsu to give him more power… he’s never done it because he trusts his own brute force too much… yeah good, Unohana is beast!

Ok… here is my analysis.
I agree that Kyoraku should be the CC… and I always believed Unohana to possess incredible abilities.
However… one thing doesn’t connect here… I’m hoping someone could help me out.
Unohana is senior to Kyoraku and Ukitake. She is the eldest after Yama-jii… meaning she was part of the original 13 OR she joined shortly after they were founded. In either case, she became a captain before either Kyoraku or Ukitake.
She is also a Kenpachi…which is the title given to the captain of the 11th Division (ref. Shinji’s comments in the “Turn Back the Pendulum Arc,” where he says “The captain of the 11th Division has always been a Kenpachi; that’s how it’s set up”). During that time, it’s possible that Tenjirou was the Captain of the “Healing Squad” OR “The Assassination/Covert Ops Squad” (I’m mentioning the second because of his proficiency with Shunpo).
Yoruichi says in the Soul Society arc that Zaraki is the ONLY captain to become a captain without knowing Bankai.
Meaning… Unohana knew Bankai before she became a Captain. So if she became a Captain AND a Kenpachi, HOW COME HER SHIKAI IS A LAME HEALING TYPE ZANPAKUTOU? If she was bloodthirsty (like Zaraki/all Kenpachi, as Hanatarou puts it), how is it that her Zanpakutou Shikai isn’t some DESTRUCTIVE type Zanpakutou? Zanpakutou and Shinigami are connected, and possess siimilar personalities, so how come?

You wanna know what i think Sriram? I do think Unohana’s Shikai Minazuki was a blood thirsty killing Zanpakuto but then after getting some sense she wanted to become a healer so she asked Tenjiro to teach her how to heal. And after training with Kenjiro she used Zenju and trained her Zanpakuto spirit how to become a healer too. And i do think Kenjiro was the first Captain of Squad 4. I can see why you said Squad 2 cause Kenjiro is a Shunpo Master and he’s faster then Soifon!! But i dont believe he’s faster then Yoruichi cause shes the fastest Shinigami in history and she invented some Shunpo techniques. Like Utsusemi. And the Onmitsukido and Squad 2 were at the beginning separate forces. Yoruichi became the Commander of the Onmitsukido and then became Captain of Squad 2. Sense she had both positions she brought the Onmitsukido and Squad 2 together, kinda changing the History of the Gotei 13. Like Kisuke created the Research and Development of Squad 12. And after Yoruichi left, Soifon took both positions. You are right about Unohana being older then Shunsui and Jushiro. They both call her Sempai. And yes those three were around during the creation of the Gotei 13, Onmitsukido and Kido Corps. Do you agree with me that the Vandenreich were defeated by the Soul Society 1000 years ago? Oh…so maybe Unohana incorporated some of those “hot-spring” properties into Minazuki’s biological system to augment the healing… but then again… we have yet to see offensive type Zanpakutous from any 4th Squad member (except Kira). Isane’s Zanpakuto ability has never been shown. I’d like to see Minazuki causing some serious damage.
Maybe Rukia was referring to the 200 year old Quincy Massacre with respect to Kurotsuchi Mayuri’s experiments on them. He did say during the Soul Society arc that he experimented on a lot of them, but they didn’t survive. Souken Ishida was his last test subject.
Agreed…the Vandenreich don’t get along with the Quincies in the human world… but that wouldn’t necessarily mean they are stronger than the human ones. Like Opie said, Uryu’s Heilig Pfiefl shouldn’t be weaker than his.
But we have yet to see Uryu demonstrate Blut techniques, which surprisingly Ichigo is able to use. I’d not be surprised if Juhabach and Masaki are related somehow.
I do agree that Soul Society massacred the Vandenreich 1000 years ago. Yama-jii and the 6th seat guy from the 13th Division both mentioned this. This is also seen when Yama-jii uses Zanka no Tachi Minami, to rouse those massacred Quincy against Royd Lloyd.
But I’m still surprised as to how Yama-jii “failed” to kill Juhabach. Apparently, they couldn’t steal Bankai 1000 years ago; they developed this technique much much later. And Yama-jiii was supposed to be the strongest even 1000 years back. Maybe he had a soft corner that told him to let Juhabach live. Or maybe he gave Juhabach some grievous injuries, and assumed him dead.
Maybe you’re right…even I feel that the real Quincy massacre was about the human ones. Maybe Souken tried to unite his forces with Soul Society to destroy the evil Vandenreich. So the Vandenreich played mind games in between and engineered this massacre.
Because apparently, Stern Ritter signature Techniques don’t work against other Quincy-like beings.
However, why would Yama-jii want Unohana to stay in the barracks? Time and again, this is what I find puzzling in Bleach. Every time there is a crisis, the characters hold back their battle power. Against Aizen, against Vandenreich, against Juhabach 1000 years ago…
And in the end, they end up regretting it, half of them dying in the process, and the other half useless in a comatose state.
I’m guessing Byakuya will “discard” his Shikai Senbonzakura, and somehow gain access to a new Zanpakutou. Possibly his grandfather Ginrei’s. Because unless Kisuke comes up with a brilliant strategy for reversing the medallion’s stealing process, and free the stolen Bankais, the thievery is going to happen again and again. They stole Zanka no Tachi, for god’s sake! How on earth is Soul Society going to counter that? Even Zero Division members would find it tough. A sword that can cut anything, and a cloak of flame that no attack can harm…
It would be interesting to see how Juhabach employs Zanka no Tachi’s powers in battle. Of course, he wouldn’t be as adept as Yama-jii, but all the same….
I love Aizen-taichou in this regard… he’s cautious. He’s cunning. Calculating. Manipulative. He never makes a move unless he has a 100% chance of success. Personally, because of intelligence alone, I’d like to think Aizen-taichou in his Soul Society days would have won against Juhabach. Yama-jii is often confounded because of ego, arrogance, impatience and temper.
As for the Vandenreich staying somewhere…it’s definitely not in the Human world. Soul Society would find out too easily. Maybe they stayed in Soul Society itself. In an underground place (like Yoruichi & Kisuke’s playground)…. that place was never discovered by Seireitei, right?
But I’d like to think they stayed in the Dangai. SInce they absorb reishi, and don’t emit it, I don’t think the restrictive currents or the Cleaner would have any effect on them. And the spatial/temporal distortion would be ideal to study more Quincy techniques & perfect them, as well as analyze abilities of the captains/vice-captains who pass through the Dangai time and again.

Well I believe what Juha said to Yama-ji that he wanted to handle everything byhimself and not let anyone interfere. That’s why he didn’t want Ichigo fighting, or Inoue restoring his left arm. Cause he doesnt want to depend on a human like he did with Juha. Cause he asked him do you still have your human heart? And maybe he told Unohana to say cause he didn’t want help defeating Juha and his Stern Ritter. I mean by himself he killed two powerful Quincy Dirscoll and Royd Loyd. Defeated three powerful Quincy NaNaNa (who fought Rose). Bezzbee (who fought Kensei.) And As Nodt (who fought and nearly killed Byakuya). I know those three are still alive they seem important. I’m thinking your right about Byakuya forging a new Senbonzakura. The technique he learned from his grandfather was Hakutenki. He’s most powerful attack. Renji and Rukia might forge new Zanpaktuo too. So Byakuya and defeat his Bankai that As Nodt still has. Dude imagine her or his Quincy Vollstang. Maybe its fear of God or nightmare of God. And yeah Kisuke and Mayuri and probably Senjumaru can find a way to counter and get by there Bankais. I do like your idea about the Vandenreich fooling the Soul Society to kill the human Quincy. Uryu is a Quincy protigy wso yeah he’s powerful. But his powers and Ichigos are different. And yes Masaki is related to Juha.

I understand your reasoning of Yachiru Unohana and completely belive in it as it’s correct, why isn’t she got a impressive looking shikai to go with her powers? The mistake you made here was that this is Unohana we’re talking about!! There is a reason why she never part takes in fights and is never seen get angry, meaning that she’s calm as hell! She’s been trained to be like so. Taking the low root in life, not trying to get as much attention as the other captains… There is a reason for this…
Currently I presume that with all the power comes responsibility, plus as she’s been trained by Kirinji to be a healer, she’ll use that to her advantage, she hides her powers really well!! The fact that she’s a Kenpachi proves that she’s possibly even more powerful than any other captain, possibly even Yamamoto?!!
Plus the fact that Shunsui had to reveal to the 46th chambers that she was Yachiru Unohana, the first kenpachi means that they themselves didn’t know!! Therefore only a few selected people know!! That’s the thing Unohana may currently want, so it’s like her privacy for her….
And I suspect that her shikai look crap but again she’s hiding it true powers… she uses it for good things but if she wills, she could possibly turn that into something a lot more dangerous… So that’s what I think but you know 😛 there is always another explanation

Can wait to see if ken gets a shikai and what it would turn out to be ………………….. I think retsu’s shikai is much like the gay dude in squad 11 as in it could be released and its true power still hidden .. That big manta ray think might be able to change forms : defensive, healing, and attack

Zaraki already has his Shikai, which is supposedly the current form which he has, yeah , i’d have to agree that Unohana is hiding a lot of her power!!

Lol, I think you’ve complelty got it wrong, those image your looking at are fan based, they are not related to the actual manga itself… They are just to make the user enjoy their stay by looking at the art more. And the woman is suppose to be Yachiru Unohana, and yes it’s fan made so it’s not true… 🙂

Yup agree, I think that Zaraki will not achieve nothing as though as his Bankai, because that usually takes years, however Yachiru Unohana will help him to discover the name of his Sword as well as his abilities, exploring them and fighting even harder 😛 I want to see the expression in his face when he finds out that Unohana is the First Kenpachi!!

so i thaught some arc in bleach was unececery like bount or the fullbringers(except the fact that ichigo got his powers back) but little by little the arc’s connect to each other…..
also i don’t think thank kenpachi is going to learn bankai….its possible but not likely…..he is going to learn how to fight efficient with both arms and other staff like that…..also what the fuck unohana the first kenpachi,how old could she actually be……could she actually be among the first killers that juha bach mentioned along with yamamoto…i wonder what do you think????

Personally the older arcs were good but not amazing, they are starting to connect yes which is a good thing 🙂
Yeah I also think that Kenpachi isn’t going to learn Bankai but only to perfect his Shikai and learn the name of his zanpakutou… yeah he will learn more from Unohana. She’s been with Yamamoto for a long time now and it’s likely that she’s a very powerful person, especially since she knows the Zero Division members… And yeah I think she was crazy before but Yamamoto could have helped her…
