Bleach 608 reveals Ichibe’s Black Technique where by he uses all the darkness in Black against Yhwach, who is unable to control Ichibe’s techniques. Ichibei and Yhwach keep on battling to show who’s stronger, Ichibei having the upper hand goes to reveal that Yhwach is totally inferior to him.
Bleach 608 see’s us outside Seireitei by a stream of water with a few dears by it, drinking we see a strange oily dark paint on the stream of water, it’s as dark as it could be. Seeing Ichibei show his zanpakuto, Ichimonji, is magnificent. Yhwach realises that the brush has transformed into a blade, but he doesn’t sense any reiatsu from it or anything.
Yhwach who’s face has been beaten up gets a flash like image of Ichibe’s brush for a second then back to the Zanpakuto, he doesn’t understand what just happened. Ichibei talks mentioning if he saw a brush or a blade. Then attacks with all the ink splattering all over the place.
Seems like the ink from before on the river was from this battle. Ichibei and Yhwach battle each other with Yhwach asking what he’s fighting with, even if it’s splattering ink everywhere he can’t slice through it at all. The one that had sliced his name in half.
However now that he’s even cut his name in half, he can bring those back whenever he wishes. He releases his blade when he goes to mention its name, however he realises that he’s completely forgotten its name. Ichibei asks if he truly know its name or the fact that the blade never had no name to begin with.
Ichibei mentions that anything that has blotted by his Ichimonji loses it’s name. That without a name has no power. With a nameless blade and a nameless cross, the prospects of you killing me seem rather dim Ichibei mentions. Yhwach gets angry and mentions that if he cannot do a thing, he will just steal his power.
He goes onto create a large Quincy sign above them, called the Holy Alter or Sankt Altar, he smiles and tries to absorb Ichibe’s power. He seems to have succeeded however Ichibei just stands there. Yhwach notices that he didn’t steal his power.
Ichibei mentions that he shouldn’t be making that face, in fact he did get his power stolen, really. However the power he lost cannot make it to him. The power is black! Once Ichimonji is set free, then among all the Shinigami, Quincy, Living or Dead, every last bit of Black in this world bends to his whim. Yhwach seems to be stripped of his black! Bleach 608 ends here.
A fantastic chapter, really, it made me happy to see Yhwach finally on the back as his own energy and power get sucked out of him. It’s also interesting to see that Ichibei control’s the colour black and turn it into power. It really seems that Ichibei will destroy Yhwach here and now. Can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 609, it’s getting to a really insane point right now.

This was definitely a pretty great chapter. I’m glad that Ichibei’s putting up such a great fight and I do think it would be the ultimate upset if he actually manages to defeat Yhwach or overpower him to an extent where Uryu and Hackiwald have to get involved. At the very least, Ichibei has lived up to his hype. (Even if the others have not)

I completely agree. I see him as an equal to Yhwach. Man I don’t believe Uryu or Jugram can really put up a fight against Ichibei. Even though we don’t know what his A and his B can do. But damn he can leave you powerless is one sweep.

It’s a pretty incredible ability and it’s hard to see how Yhwach will get out of it. The only path I can see is that his true ability is an ability that negates other abilities while giving him an extra ability. Something extremely OP like that. Otherwise, Ichibei looks like he has this in the bag. I don’t think Uryu or Jugram could realy do much against him, but a surprise attack with a new power to assist Yhwach could potentially turn the tides. Jugram does have the scales ability right? Maybe he will see that the fight is not even and his scales will somehow even things by giving Yhwach his sword’s name back or by taking away Ichibei’s brush. That would be intriguing, but sad for Ichibei. If only his partners could actually do something to help! #WeNeedIchigo

Ya even though it hasn’t been said yet, I can guess Jugram’s Schrift is The Balance. And I guess when someone has too much luck, his Schrift works. Cause for one thing, Cang Du survived his battle with Toshiro with only moderate injures, than he survived Jugram’s Spirit Weapon strike using The Iron.
I like that The Quincy’s Spirit Weapon have names. Kinda like Shikai and Bankai have separate names. Like Yhwach’s Spirit Weapon is named Sankt Bogen. And Askin’s Spirit Weapon is called Lethal Dose in German. Can’t wait for someone to explain the Spirit Weapon and show the names of the other Sternritter’s Spirit Weapons.

Yeah, the names add some more weight to the villains since they aren’t just going around with ordinary weapons. It’ll take me a while to actually memorize most of the names, but I’m still deciding whether I want to know them by their Japanese names or the translated versions. It’s a dicey matter since whichever one I choose to memorize will result in me forgetting the other one. (Likely anyway)

That’s interesting. I like that they have unique names. Quincy really are the rivals of the Shinigami. Just like Zanpakuto, Shikai, and Bankai, the Spirit Weapon, Schrift, and Vollständig are the same but use different energy to activate. I can guess the name of the Spirit Weapon is in German, while the Vollständig is random God like names. Cause I remember when I Uryu used Seele Schneider during the Arrancar Arc and it’s name is in German. So I translated Askin’s Spirit Weapon Lethal Dose to German. Its called Tödlich Dosis.

Ichibei can obviously defeat yamamoto know that we know the ability of his zanpaktou. I mean he can basically strip yamamoto of his rujin jakka and he is already on par with yhwach so he could defeat yamamoto quite easily, even if he had bankai.

Yup I agree. While Ryun Jakka is very powerful and the most destructive Zanpakuto, Ichimonji can just take away it’s power. Plus it has other amazing techniques like name curse, name severing, drawing seals and block ways.

My thoughts exactly. I do not see a way for ichibei to lose. I didn’t see a way for yamamoto to lose either, but kubo managed to find a way with the whole “stealing bankai” thing so hopefully kubo finds a reasonable way for this to end.

As for Ichibei losing to Yhwach I don’t know yet sense Yhwach hasn’t used his full lower of his Schrift. As for Yamamoto I can kinda see him losing to Yhwach but not without moderately or severely injuring Yhwach. I’m sure Kubo will show us how Yhwach can counter this.
As for the stealing Bankai, so many people bad mouthed the Sternritter because they steal Bankai, saying they were weak without the stolen Bankai. Which is obvious bull cause we all know that a Quincy needs to be as strong or stronger than the Shinigami to steal Bankai. Plus they have Vollständig which is equal to Bankai in power. I mean a Sternritter cannot use Vollständig when they have Bankai, because Vollständig requires large amounts of Reiyoku, which is the same for Bankai, so of course they can’t use two powerful techniques at once. So I don’t believe we will see Yhwach’s Vollständig anytime soon. Unless he uses Yamamoto’s Bankai and Ichibei destroys the Medallion.

It does seem strange. I noticed that Ichimonji looks like a caligraphy ink pen. I guess the ink takes away names. Thus takes away it’s power.

I guess that was Kubo showing us that the salamander was losing its black from Ichimonji. And it’s only taking black within the Soul Society. But still such a huge radius that Ichimonji takes in black.

Again that’s a good point. Yhwach has yet to use his full power yet. I mean it might happen. I just don’t see his using the stolen Bankai and his Vollständig. Yhwach is extremely powerful. The strongest of all Quincy, so his Vollständig is immensely powerful as well, I don’t think he can use it now cause of the Bankai. That’s just what the Sternritter said, so I think that counts Yhwach as well. But again I could be wrong. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Man I know. I don’t see him dying like Yhwach like Yamamoto. But losing yes. I see Kubo doing two more flashback arcs. First is the Quincy Massacre 200 years ago. And one last one called First 1000 year blood war.

I personally don’t. But he does have many secrets and should really explain himself. I believe he was their during the Quincy Massacre. How else would have have created a vaccine using a Shinigami’s soul and a Quincy’s Heilig Pfeil?

That’s kinda why I see him taking on Askin Nakk Le Vaar. He is probably one of the most intellectual member of the Elite Guard. I liked to to see Kisuke and his Shikai Benihime vs Askin and The Deathdealing.

Hmm We’ve seen a hint of Askin’s power, I think there is a lot more left, I still believe that Askin is not as strong as Urahara, he may seem intellectual, but he’s not as strong or crazy as Urahara, I see Urahara taking Askin down within a few minutes.

Well I disagree. Sense Askin is a member of the Elite Guard, he is definitely very strong. While I see Pernida, Gerard, and Lille a lot stronger than him, he himself is not weak. I also consider Kisuke very strong as well as Yoruichi, I consider the Royal Guard Stronger Than them. So I think he can take on Kisuke. Plus his Schrift can keep him from dying so he won’t be easy to kill. Like you said, we only have a small hint to what The Deathdealing can fully do.
