This is a bit of an offbeat post, but it relates to an amazing manga/anime series known as Death Note. There have been many revisions here and there, and now we have the latest movie coming out very soon. It seems that Death Note will be getting a squeal called “Death Node Light up the NEW world”. You can watch the video below to get a taste of what it’s all about.
Text: 10 years since the legendary movie.

Ryuk: Humans are so fascinating!
The official website also revealed the key characters within the show. The movie will open in Japan on the 29th of October. The new film revolves around a highly advanced information society where cyber-terrorism is a new crime. New characters who inherited the DNA of Light and detective L emerge into this story.
These two will wage war on each other as with 6 new Death Notes that have appeared on Earth. A new and crucial plot element being the “Six-Note Rule”: whereby only six Death Notes are allowed to exist at a time in the world. Per say, only 6 Shinigami’s are allowed in the human world at one time.
Now, let’s go through a few of the characters who will play a key within the story.
- Masaki Suda as Yugi Shion, cyber terrorist who reverses Kira
- Sousuke Ikematsu as Ryuzaki, L’s successor and world-famous detective
- Masahiro Higashide as Tsukuru Mishima, investigator pursuing Death Notes
- Rina Kawaei as Sakura Aoi, most terrible Death Note user, opposite of Light Yagami
- Mina Fujii as Sho Nanase, investigator on Death Note Tast Force
- Erika Toda as Misa Amane
- Shidou Nakamura as Ryuk
So, with all the hype that’s building up for this movie, what are your thoughts on this? Go ahead and comment below telling us how you feel about the next step for Death Note. I honestly, can’t wait, It’ll be great to see it as an English dub soon.

Looks ok, hope this turns out well & same with Warner Bros. version of it. Don’t want these films ruining the name of Death Note & its characters.

I actually didn’t know there was a Warner Bros version coming out. I read somewhere that with all the Hollywood going through manga and Japanese anime and whitewashing it etc, and somewhat taking ideas from it seems really unfair on the original creators.

I hope this version is better than the last one.
