Bleach 525 shows us why Zaraki is truly the strongest Shinigami within the Gotei 13! He keeps on going unconscious and coming back, it seems like he’s quick death brings him back even stronger than before! Unohana’s thirst to fight a stronger is met as Younger Zaraki shows why she’s weaker than him! Zaraki comes back alive with a larger force after Unohana keeps healing him when he’s unconscious!
Bleach 525 begins as Zaraki comes back once again after he was unconscious, he mentions that it keeps on happening over and over again in the middle of his fight, then comes back! It feels nostalgic for him, he mentions that fighting is fun, but he never happens to lose control or consciousness of himself. It only happened once before, only that time when he fought against her.
We move onto the past where a man talks to her captain mentions that they’ve searched Rukongai, and were unable to find someone strong enough to satisfy him, Unohana realizes that he’s clear to her intentions! He then goes on to mention that the mission was to find someone strong to which she could go up against in a fight against her. He then mentions that he will consider the mountain of dead people killed by her as representing how displeased she is.
She notices the number of people, shes surprised that she didn’t create it for herself, he asks if she didn’t create it herself! A younger Zaraki appears with a massive sword compared to the size of his body! The man asks who that kid is, Unohana mentions that at this point she had lost control! Zaraki jumps at Unohana, he comes at unbelievable speeds from the sky, she mentions that she goes around in order to find someone who she can compete with!
Both their sword clash and from out of nowhere! Unohana is stabbed with just one shot! The origins of the scar below her neck can be traced to this moment. Unohana mentions that she didn’t think that she would find such pleasure in fighting against a child. Zaraki once again goes unconscious and comes back, after he’s come back he’s finally able to cut Unohana on the arm!
Zaraki cheers for himself as he’s finally able to get a hit on her, he then mentions that until earlier he was only reacting to Unohana’s sword, but if he only concentrates on his reflex, then he’s going to be able to get a hit on Unohana! He notices that every time he loses consciousness and comes back, he feels as though he’s reborn even more powerful!
Unohana mentions that he probably doesn’t realize it, but unconsciously he was restraining himself, this affected his fighting power as it was restraining that also. Unohana remembers the moments he barely lost against Ichigo and also nearly won against Nnoitra! To an outsider, it may seem like the opponent was strong, but Unohana knew that it was because Zaraki has sealed his own power to an extreme level!
During their first ever fight, they both felt a joy in which they never had experienced before! She goes on to explain that Zaraki had felt joy by fighting to his limits, she mentions that this is her sin that she had made him decrease his abilities. To Zaraki, everyone around him was nothing, it was nothing for him, at that point, for him Unohana was the first enemy he met in which he could compete with his power!
She mentions that at that point, she was weaker than Zaraki! It was someone Zaraki could call enemy as if he lost her, he would completely lose the opportunity to enjoy a fight ever again! Unohana’s weakness was what brought Zaraki’s powers down, as for him to not kill her, he adjusted to her weakness.
He unconsciously and gradually restrained and sealed his own reiatsu, she was desperate, therefore he had sealed his own power because of her worthlessness! She mentions that every time he fights and goes to the verge of dead, he little by little broke his shackles and was able to open some of the restrained reiatsu!
Unohana mentions that she’s stronger than anyone except for Zaraki! That is why she’s going to kill Zaraki a hundred thousand times, at the same time she will heal him over and over again until he returns to be his old self in which he’s powers are fully open! Unohana keeps stabbing him, while at the same time, she heals him. She mentions that she was for him to keep on goes higher and higher until she is once again surpassed!
Zaraki seems to be coming back from death with a smile! Unohana tells Zaraki to come and get her, he swings his massive sword and it seems like it could be a crucial hit on Unohana, but with her healing skills, she could easily heal herself! This is the point in which Bleach 525 ends.
One word can describe this chapter! WOW, Unohana has quickly acted and found out a way for Zaraki to bring forth his great powers! Can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 526 when we’re likely to see Zaraki and Unohana’s battle possibly ends with a high, I presume that Zaraki may defeat Unohana, and maybe even kill her!

I do believe Zaraki will become more powerful then Unohana. And sooner or later he will defeat her. But not kill her. First he still needs to know his Zanpaktuo. Like Shikai and then later Bankai. But Unohana will not die. Come close to realty probably. But this is the first time we have seen Unohana fight. If she dies here we wont know what her Shikai or Bankai can really do. Plus I want to see both of them fight Juha Bach. I believe once Zaraki learns his Zanpaktuo, he along with Unohana can battle against Juha
I don’t believe Unohana will die. Zaraki may become stronger then her but she is stronger then all the other Shinigami. I want to see what the art of killing can really do. She wasn’t even using it against Zaraki. That’s why she wont die.

Agree, she’s going to get a lot of damage, hopefully Zaraki finds out that it’s a way of getting him to powerup instead of being an actual fight to the end…
Second time it’s been mentioned, which is for him to fight using his reflexes instead of using his mind, which may come to bite him in his ass… He may want Unohana still alive, but may have killed her using his “reflexes” thus he should have used his mind…
Plus it’s interesting how Unohana is healing Zaraki, she cuts him and quickly heals him, damn thats some quick stuff..
I’m pretty sure that they may have a rematch pretty soon, however something else may come… Hmm I agree what you mentioned, she has to fight outside this muken against the Quincy’s

after this training is finish…Zaraki being the strongest shinigami in current Gotei 13 with excluding Royal Guard Members…while Unohana being the 2nd, Kyoraku the 3rd and Ukitake 4th….

We’ve not yet seen their powers so it’s hard to say if they’re powerful, they could be skillful, but doesn’t mean the same thing as power… They could be very strong, but without seeing it, Its hard to believe..

by Zaraki getting more stronger than before, it doesn’t mean the total power of Gotei 13 already surpass Royal Guard total power…even worst there only 12 captains left after Yamamoto death….and that, these 5 captains are not being select to protect Royal Place and their god for nothing…

Yes I agree with that but the 13 Captains have some weak captains as well as strong ones, e.g. Mayuri is better with long range attacks, especially using his long bankai, while Zaraki is hands on…

i believe that the 5 members are powerful but not like they were before they went to the kings palace because their skills have declined and zaraki i don’t think he will learn bankai shikai maybe but unlikely alsounohana won’t die because zaraki will spare her then say something cool and unohana will start crying…….or something and then a flashback from the days she became a healer……….

If that happens, then it would be epic, hopefully Kubo will twist and turn the story and connect the craziest of things making the story so clear! It would be awesome to see both Kenpachi’s fight side by side destroying Quincy’s!

There can be no Shikai without knowing the Zanpakutous name and Zaraki doesn’t know it, so no Shikai unitl then.

yes it was on shikai too!!he couldnt use its powers cause he didnt know his name but it was still shikai!and both ichigo and kenpachi have similar reiatsu thats why their swords are always in shikai form cause of their huge reiatsu.

Ichigo’s zanpakuto was not in shikai form. It wasn’t until he learned its name that it revealed its true shikai form. Its original, unreleased state was a plain silver sword, it was just bigger than any regular zanpakuto. Its shikai form is black. The one he has now is a modified version of his original shikai. To acheive bankai he had to get his zanpakuto to submit to him. That was when he was fighting Zangetsu at Yoruichi’s place.
Zaraki’s zanpakuto is the same. It’s longer than any other zanpakuto, but that’s only because his enormous reiatsu is affecting its unreleased state. He must learn its name in order for him to release its shikai form and eventually his bankai.

Well… The current form Zaraki’s Zanpakutou is supposedly his Shikai Form, but he doesn’t know the name of the Zanpakutou, thus he can’t use it’s power… So it’s hard to say if he’s achieved the form or not, even if he’s currently got it…

If you would recall with Ichigo it was just the opposite. He could use the power of his zanpakuto before he learned its name and released its black shikai form, it was just weaker. He couldn’t fully release its power until he learned its name. That’s how he defeated his first menos grande. He merely channelled his reiatsu thru his zanpakuto’s slash.

Hmmm, it’s hard to determine which is which since this was the same for Ichigo, he didn’t know Zangetsu’s name and he kept using his own reiatsu, it wasn’t Zangetsu’s power at all. It was either Rukia’s or his owns. I think the same applies here. I could be wrong and you could be correct but I think what I previously wrote may be correct.

Zaraki’s zanpaktou is in its constant shikai state. It’s similar to Ichigo’s which is in the constant Shikai state. However, he still doesn’t know its name or can’t talk to it. It’s been in the constant shikai state for a long time.

Ichigo didn’t release shikai form of his zanpakuto until he learned its name. The current shikai form is black. Before he released its shikai form it was silver. You might wanna go back to season one to review.

Zaraki zanpakuto already in shikai form…his zanpakuto already in shikai form since he fight Unohana for the first time…but he already forget his zanpakuto name since he sealed his power just like Unohana said…that’s why Unohana try to bring his old power… and we all know that Zaraki can’t control his power/reatsu and can’t sense other shinigami reatsu just like Ichigo…

yoruichi already state that zaraki is full-time released zanpakuto just like ichigo…maybe zaraki already achieved shikai back then when he still younger..but after he unconsciousness, maybe he already forget his zanpakuto name…that’s why unohana try to give his power back because because of her, zaraki became like that…since her already state that her own sin…

That plot twist about Zaraki holding back is pretty annoying. All these years he could have been pwning -_- Well at least he finally got to win (because Unohona is throwing him a freebie) Pretty cool fight, but I wish Unohona would treat it as more of an actual fight. She just seemed to be toying with him

Personally, I think its fantastic to know that when Ichigo met Zaraki, that wasn’t even close to his real power! Well yeah, Unohana can heal herself so she could be testing the amount of power in which Zaraki has with each strike, I don’t think toying is the right word, more like trying to achieve a greater purpose, possibly for Yamamoto’s sake, as he died for no reason, or to achieve what Yamamoto couldnt, which was to train and make Zaraki powerful again… It’s all starting to connect! 😀

i always believed that kenpachi had more power and one day he would acieve bankai even though many people said that would never happen so i am not suprised i feel vindicated its the same way i feel when other people where having some huge science fiction theories about who was behind the mask of tobi in naruto and they got mad and started saying that was bad writing when they were the dumbs and couldnt accept that it was obbito.

Yeah, but I’d say that this also makes Yamamoto look worse. Since Unohana is this strong, she would have made a lot of difference had she been fighting this whole time. Even during the whole Aizen climax she would have been of help.
The Zaraki part I just don’t like because it’s like that Hiei plottwist in Yu Yu Hakusho. I never like when a character actually gets weaker. It should always just be about getting stronger.
Definitely still a cool chapter, but even if Zaraki ends up winning with that final slash I don’t think I could really call it a win

Good point. When he eventually defeats Unohana it wont mean a win. Just that he will become the strongest Shinigami. And Unohana will be the second. Of course after Zaraki achieves Shikai and Bankai. Zaraki is gonna need Bankai. Juha is immensely powerful. And I can already guess that he has a council of Immensely powerful Quincy. And they will have like 8 members. Five for the Royal. Guard. 2 for Zaraki and Unohana. And one for Aizen.

Hidden power… If he achieves shikai or even bankai that would be a plus. I’m actually thinking that Unohana is charged with releasing his hidden power and then Kyoraku is going to train him further in releasing his shikai and bankai. Because he did say that he was gonna teach Zaraki the art of killing/swordsmanship.

Unohana’s intentions seem to be so that she can help Zaraki to unleash his sealed reiatsu… He’s been hiding his powers in order to compete and have more of a fair fight against his opponents, so he can have fun… Unohana’s sin was that she was weak and made Zaraki weak too… So she want for Zaraki to dig deep and get his powers back..

But we did see him point to his scar before the fight,in another Chapter where they talk about the parts of their body that “keeps on throbbing when they hear each other’s voice”………that also makes me think……….do they “hate” each other?or “love” or “admire” or “care”?what?I wish that can also be explain in the next chapters

Since he’s subconsciously suppressing his true power, in his current state, he’s no match for Unohana. When he loses consciousness, that’s when Unohana has defeated him. He wakes up again because she heals him. She pushes him to the brink of death in order to trigger his hidden reserves. Just before he dies she brings him back through healing techniques and begins the process again. She’s gonna keep healing him until he snaps out of it and releases his true power.

I would still like to see how she “heals” him…….Zaraki keeps on saying he “goes blank” or something like that in the middle of the fight……maybe some kind of high-speed healing treatment?And I hope I can see in the next Manga WHY she turned to the life of healing and saving lives……….I wonder………

Somehow I feel like if Zaraki learned his Zanpaktuo he would become one of squad 0 or new captain commander. He just seems like the only one who is as “ruthless” as the Old Gotei 13/as powerful. This was a weird way to explain things, but it somehow worked…I thought his “limiting” was going to be him not learning his Zanpaktuo’s name, but apparently not? Seriously he needs to name it or learn its name.

Captains Commander doesn’t mean that the person is most powerful… It just means the man or woman who can work with in hardship and make hard decision, which Shunsui can…. Unohana is the most powerful out of them, but she wasn’t elected as Captain Commander… Although I do hope Zaraki becomes a beast!

Totally agree. The title and position of Captain Commander is not about being the most powerful. Being a leader requires a fair amount of experience, respect for and from your people, intelligence and resolve. Great strength would be a plus as it was for Yamamoto, but it’s not required.

im so amazed to see that unohana can really fight. im seeing in the next chapter unohana unleashing her shikai because of the power of kenpachi’s slash. I also cant wait to see my favorite character shunshui taking on kenpachi. I believe even shunshui has a hidden power and I also believe that shushui is the strongest captain in the gotei. Kubo, said that this final arc will last for 10 years or more. I know believe him.

Shunsui isn’t the strongest captain, it was mentioned that the Kenpachi’s are the strongest, so naturally it would be Zaraki’s Full Potential then Unohana then other captains. It’s hard to believe that it will last that long since the chapters are going at such a quick pace…
