For those anime fans wanting to get right into the final arc of Naruto Shippuden, to end it as we saw in the manga, unfortunately we won’t be getting that any time soon. It seems that in March, Naruto Shippuden will feature “The true Legend of Itachi Volume – Light and Darkness” which tells the story of Itachi begins.
These episodes will be based of the two official books released in Japan, “The True Legend of Itachi: Glory” and “The True Legend of Itachi: Dark Night”, it was first thought that these stories would be included in separate anime’s but it seems like they’re to continue within the Naruto Shippuden series.
The Kaguya arc which see’s Kaguya Otsutsuki battle against Naruto and Sasuke will continue on, but it’s been said that it shall continue after Itachi’s arc. Although, it’s now know how long Itachi’s story will last, therefore, it seems like Kaguya’s story will feature later in 2016.
The studio which animates Naruto, Studio Pierrot, mentions that the arc will be “original”, however, it’s unclear what exactly this means, if it’s part of the canon anime or it being a sort of “filler”. It could either mean their own rendition on the story, or they could follow the canon work by Kishimoto. There isn’t a lot of information at the moment, if anything pops up, I’ll be sure to write about it.
So what do you think? Are you as pissed off as I am, seeing this series end will be nothing more than a drag for me from this point on. These extra stories, fillers, and so should just be what they are, extras, and be shown at the end or something, not in the middle of such a crucial and important moment. I read somewhere that the Itachi arc might have decent animation and its about Itachi. I just hope its a story that we’ve not covered yet.

I hope it doesn’t drag on too long just as Tsunade’s dream but it still disappoints me because the minute it was titled Naruto Shippuden at the beginning I was afraid they would animate it before the final arc. Let’s just hope it becomes a worthy-to-watch filler if comes to that.

I’m not pissed, I know how Naruto ends. It’s just a shame that they’re adding so much crap to it. Kaguya will come later in 2016, but that could be summer time I think.

The hole point of these fillers is not to delay the series , but to bring Naruto Shipuuden to a brilliant ending by fulfilling the untold stories of mysterious characters . As for that the story is building up a lot of momentum toward the Kaguya Arc as well as the final show down between Indra and Ashura’s reincarnates Sasuke Uchiha vs Naruto . I don’t know why certain people wants the story to end so quickly I mean come on Naruto is great

It’s great and all but the fact that it’s pulling out crap from its butt of crappy fillers pisses me off. The manga ended it so well, but these episodes are just ruining the experience for me.

IMO, the fillers are acting quite oppositely, they’re detracting from the momentum that the canon story was building up. It’s all well and good to have a few episodes that are directly relevant to, or slightly deviating from, the characters that are featuring now, but come on… Itachi died a while back, there’s no need for a series on his life right now; and we don’t need more than a year of fillers to “build momentum”… The whole reason that most people, quite rightly so, want to draw this anime to a close is because they want to see canon first, filler after; priorities have been set. Itachi is a much appreciated, welcomed character in the Naruto franchise however his significance to the plot at this moment in time bears close to no significance; they could have adapted the Itachi stories as a side anime later on, or at least when was Itachi still fresh.

Guarentee half the people who are pissy are people who thought nothing of Itachi. I hope these fillers smack all of you in the head and proove to you just how strong Itachi was.
Itachi > Madara & I bet you these fillers will lead to that theory. Thank you for not ending this show prematurely. I definitely would rather have extra episodes than to have the show end. It’s clearly not going to be the same shit we’ve seen before. This is the time now where shit starts coming together, don’t kid yourselves. These fillers or w/e you want to call them will be epic.

Im not as mad about the Itachi arc, I thought he was a great character, well written, good story. But I hope that it wont drag out as long as the Tsunade arc did. Im excited to see the new episodes of this arc, and at the same time want to see the Kaguya vs. Team 7 and Naruto vs. Sasuke.
