Bleach 514 reveals a big clue to who Ichigo really is, his origins are not detailed but are described to be a Quincy due to his mother sides! Juha Bach reveals that as he didn’t know his mother too well, he wouldn’t have known but Juha Bach also calls Ichigo his son!! Could this be an explanation to who Isshin really is?
Bleach 514 continues on from Juha Bach vs Ichigo, Ichigo releases a mass amount of reiatsu that it covers the sky. Haschwald shouts Juha Bach’s name to ask if he’s okay, we then see some sign of life when Juha Bach uses his own powers in order to escape from Ichigo’s reiatsu, Juha Bach mentions that it was a mistake.
Ichigo thinks that because he had survived one of his attacks it’s a mistake, Juha Bach mentions that it’s not because of that, at this point, Juha Bach attacks from the right in order to rip the cloths off his arm. Ichigo blocks the attack but the cloth rips off showing Ichigo’s Blut system at works.
Juha Bach confirms his thesis that what he saw was correct, Ichigo asks what he means, Juha tells Ichigo that it was a mistake to use a Pure Quincy to stop Ichigo, he should have sent some random Arrancar because that caused the memories within his reiatsu to awaken already.
Juha Bach mentions that when he was inside Kirge’s Jail, Ichigo released his reiatsu to the extreme in order to destroy, the remnants of Ichigo’s reiatsu incorporated the surrounding reiatsu and Kirge’s reiatsu, this slowly reached the deepest part of Ichigo’s soul and awakened the memories within Ichigo’s reiatsu from the very root!
Kirge’s Jail is originally made to suppress the enemy within it, thus it’s unable to imprison Quincies inside it. This giving us fans the idea that Ichigo could be a Quincy at the core. Ichigo is confused as always and just asks Juha to answer more useless questions. Juha understands the dilemma in which Ichigo is in.
Juha Bach also mentions that he didn’t even know anything about his mother! Could this mean that Ichigo’s mother was a Quincy, I surely think so. Ichigo gets a little angered, Juha Bach tells Ichigo that he wanted to take him back from the start to reeducate him from the start but it looks like there is no time for Juha to take it slowly.
Therefore Juha Bach proposes for him to force Ichigo to surrender and drag him back. Ichigo shouts at Juha Bach asking what the hell he’s talking about. Juha Bach answers him by saying that once they’re in Vandenreich, all of Ichigo’s answers will be answered. Juha Bach then goes in for the attack.
Ichigo blocks Juha but out of nowhere, Juha grabs onto Ichigo’s head and tells him that he’s going to stab him, and he’s not going to have anytime to dodge it, even with his Blut Vene, he’ll release his power and cut right through Ichigo. Out of nowhere a dark shadow appears in which Haschwald mentions that it’s time for him to head back.
Haschwald tells Juha that that he cannot stay out of the Shatten Bereich (Literally Meaning Shadow Territory), he says that he needs to return to the Vandenreich. Juha Bach says that he cannot yet because of another thing. He then realizes that what just happened could be a trick set by Aizen as he had confused Juha’s perception in the short time they met.
At this point both Juha Bach and Haschwald start to head off when Ichigo shouts wait! Juha Bach looks back when Ichigo tells Juha that he’s just going to let him just like that? There is no way Ichigo will let Juha escape from Soul Society after all the damage he did. Juha keeps on walking when Ichigo shouts stop once more. At this point Ichigo goes on a all out run towards Juha in order to get him back.
At this point Haschwald looks back in order to stop Ichigo, he slashes his sword and in once moment, Ichigo’s sword is split in half, at this moment, Juha Bach is about the cross the Shatten Bereich when he says his last words.
Juha Bach says Goodbye, Ichigo is told that Juha Bach will come back to get him, therefore he should heal his wounds and wait till that time arrives! He also mentions that Ichigo is his son who was born in the darkness! A shocking revelation as it seems as though that Juha Bach is Ichigo Father! Bleach 514 ends here!
What a fantastic chapter! Loads of fantastic information as well as key important information about Ichigo’s mother as well as the origins of Ichigo’s supernatural powers are finally coming to light! Seriously can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 515 awesome chapter when the fantastic arc continues!

i think ichigo is the grandson to the quincy leader cause if ichigo is part quincy casue of his mother and the soul reaper powers come from his dad isshin then ichigo must be the grandson to Juha Bach or juha could be referring to son as a way of welcoming him into the quincy family cause if he was juha’s actual son he would be a pure bred quincy not half.

The thing about Juha is that he wants to take Ichigo back home, he’s planned it all very well and wants to bring Ichigo back home, he’s meaning to the word Son could be really obvious like Father and Son, or like you mentioned, complicated that he mentions to welcome him to the family… Yeah that’s true, what if somehow Ichigo was the son of both Juha Bach and Masaki, but since the Quincy are really mad with power and experiments, Juha Bach wanted to grow his son (Ichigo) to be a crazy powerful kid who will destroy Quincy Enemies..
Masaki found out and she ran with Ichigo while he was still a baby…. Half of the experiments were done on Ichigo, possibly to seal his Quincy Powers deep within his soul, leaving him as a Human, this left a large space of nothingness within Ichigo’s Soul, overtime he kept seeing ghosts and kept absorbing Hollow/Ghost presence from the people he helps, e.g. the ghost girl he saved a long time ago… This developed into Hollow Ichigo = Hollow Mask, his Shinigami Powers came from Rukia and thus completes his Hollow, Shinigami and Quincy TriPowers.., could this be a possible explanation for Ichigo’s past?

I think Ichigo is going to be the true Grim Reaper. He is being set up to be complete. The only one to ever possess and master all realms of the afterlife. Think about it… I believe this is what the king of souls will reveal to him. Ichigo will either be the next king of souls, or the only true grim reaper…

He didn’t lose his reaper powers, what he lost is the quincy that is inside him. zangetsu is not his real zanpaktou, zangetsu is juha bach when he was younger.

At this point, the son may translate to as being his blood in the sense that he is Juha Bach’s grandson:
We never learned Ishin had lost his powers etc.
What if Ishin was the heir to the Soul Society’s crown as Masaki was to that of the Vandenreich and Ishin had gotten banished due to his romance with Masaki and Ichigo is the forbidden fruit/prince etc.?

People seem to be getting confused as to what Kubo meant in reality. “Son” was figurative and not literal. Bach is basically the leader and probably the oldest quincy or among the oldest. He just called Ichigo a fellow quincy(son) as how normal old people refer to young people.
And born in the darkness refers to how Ichigo was kept from all these facts since birth.
Don’t forget that Ichigo is still a shinigami. He got that trait from Isshin. So his dad IS still Isshin.
And yea, the theory that Masaki is a quincy is the most accurate one. Bach even mentioning “you don’t know anything about your mom” is the biggest evidence.
Also, Bach never even intentionally fought with Ichigo at full strength. Haschwald managed to slice his zanpaktou into 2 in one shot. We get to see how strong Haschwald is. You don’t want an opponent who can slice your zanpaktou into 2.

After posting this, I realized that it could have meant it in the way you described, and yeah, it would be a hell of a story for Kubo to explain if he was his son, and yeah Isshin is the dad, but it’s going to be sometime till Isshin/Urahara/Juha Bach or someone who knows to explain to Ichigo what happened to Masaki and about his Quincy side. Haschwald reminds me of Ulquiorra, he and Ulquiorra both have some similar traits like being quite and hell-a-strong.

Isshin must have been royal guard because royal guard slaughtered quincy. You would say a captain could slaughter all the quincy but think about the vanderich they are much stronger than captain level shinigami. Its only fact that royal guard would defeat quincy, Isshin’s clothing is much different to normal shinigami and when he fights grand fisher “when a shinigami reaches the level captain, he learns how to control his zanpakto” meaning that isshin’s zanpakto not released suggesting that it was once when a shinigami becomes captain. Further saying that he has already reached the level of captain. But his clothing still looks different from captain. He has a white cape no shinigami in the soul society wears a cape.
My theory:
Isshin was forced to fight Juhabach and used final getsuga, because masaki was threaten to be killed or rather he saved masaki or masaki saved isshin. Whatever but they both feel in “love” I mean no one uses final getsuga for fun, it must have been for a large cause. Ichigo is a quincy/shinigami. Why so strong? he must have the power to regenerate spiritual energy after using it like a shinigami but regaining it like a quincy. Or he possessed vast spiritual pressure because he has collected it from the beginning. His bankai rather compresses his power than releasing it like the other shinigami. Maybe because he has quincy powers which rather absorbs spiritual energy. Basically he is a hybrid who can wield and release spiritual energy.

Very interesting indeed, during the first fight a thousand years, the Shinigami’s attacked the Quincy, so they had no time to prepare and thus were killed in the masses, the fact that they can now fight the captains is because they can steal their Bankai, plus they’ve possibly perfected their techniques and thus are able to better move, defend and offend. Yeah we still need an explanation from Isshin as well as his back story to all of this…
Great theory, Isshin can use his zanpakutou so it’s likely that he hasn’t used the final getsuga tenshou, or that he a different zanpakutou and not Zangetsu… but mos of what you mentioned seems like it could happen 😛 Plus Ichigo’s zanpakutou is very similar to that of Quincy arrow or any other weapon, it’s like it stores a large number of reiatsu within a small area and compresses, being dense it will likely to do a lot more damage…

Ishin’s zanpakutou was Engetsu and we had learned that had just recently recovered his power at the start of the Arrancar arc and having him being the one who had directed Ichigo to attain Mugetsu, it is more than likely that Isshin had indeed unlocked the final bankai, however, other than that it is still a mystery regarding why Isshin was allowed to live in the normal world and marry a human?

If Ichigo really broke out of the cage himself then the Hueco Mundo mystery still remains completely unsolved. Damn you, Kubo, I want to know what happens to Urahara.
Now we also know that even Ichigo is no match for the Vandenreich, although I’m positive he could easily defeat most Sternritters. I think it’s time for another power-up. It’s the third time Zangetsu was broken, and when that happens Ichigo gets to talk with the old man and gain some new abilities. With the first battle finished SS is in a miserable condition with Byakuya, Kenpachi and Yamamoto defeated and 3 other captains having their Bankai stolen. The only losses on Vanenreich side are a few Sternritters. Also the ones who actually managed to kill them are dead now(except for Ichigo). Squad 0 assistance as well as Urahara’s team help is going to be necessary to have any chance against the Quincy. I hope Tessai is going to join the fray, he may even be one of the SWP as a master of Kidou, he can even manipulate space and time with Kidou only, he doesn’t use a Zanpakutou, thus no Bankai to steal.
After reading this chapter I’m beginning to think that Aizen may really get released to join the battle on SS side, he want as far as to cast Complete Hypnosis on Juha, I think that’s what it is since when Kyouka Suigetsu bagan to disappear he said he’s becoming one with the Zanpakutou and it’s powers so perhaps now he doesn’t need the enemy to see his Shikai anymore.

What happened to Urahara and Kirge doesn’t refer to Ichigo because Ichigo didn’t even go back to Hueco Mundo.
Tessai is one of the badasses who seems to be below Urahara for a reason, he was a awesome captain but dunno how Urahara got him to follow and do everything he did, plus he’s a master of Kidou, as you mentioned.
Aizen has probably broken out of the cage and already out in his chains, he’s going to be awesome when he appears, if somehow he appears in front of Ichigo in the next chapter as Ichigo falls down caz he’s tired. Plus Ichigo notices that there is someone in front of him but can’t make out, we actually get the blurred affect from Ichigo’s point of view, it would be such a troll from Kubo is we knew it was Aizen, but Ichigo can’t see caz he is going unconscious

It also could explain the connection between Isshin and Ryuken Ishida. Maybe his wife and Ichigo’s mother were related to Ryuken like a sister or whatnot. That would also make Ichigo and Uriyu related which could add a new wrinkle to things. I think Uriyu and maybe even Ryuken will be important to defeating Jura. There has to be a lot of backstory on why the Ishida family broke off from the main group.

It would be pretty intense if something like this was to occur. Most characters have a huge amount of explanation to do to why they have become as they are and what they’ve done in the past that links in with everything that’s happened. Plus why was Ishida lied to in saying that he was like one of the last Quincy’s left when Ryuken could have known that the Quincy’s are coming back?

Pretty good chapter. Glad it came out nice n early. I still think Ichigo should have won this round pretty easily, but….I can’t always get what I wish for =) I guess next week we’ll see how the Captains are faring. (Also glad that Aizen is still able to pwn without even moving or doing anything while tied up) 😎

Atleast now we know why this arc was named 1000 year blood war. It is in reference to ichigo’s roots. He is a shinigami and quincy. Both his bloodlines are fighting each other in this arc.

Plus personally I’d want Aizen to be in restrains, it would look awesome if it was because Kubo would have more to work with if Aizen gets such a bad ass new look, he could make Aizen look awesome! there are so many questions : why Uryuu did not this Blut Vene before ? and Ichigo’s Zanpaktu now is broken , we all now that Byakuya when he broke Ichigo’s first zanpaktu he lost Shinigame powers he took from Rukia . Now what would happen if his current Zanpaktu do the same ? In my opinion I don’t think Bash is his father because if he is Ichigo would be a complete Quincy

You’re mistaken. Ichigo lost the soul reaper powers that Rukia gave him because of where he was cut by byakuya not cause his zanpaktou broke. Zanpaktou’s break all the time. Remember Byakuya’s fight against Tsukishima where Byakuya’s blade was broken.
When Ichigo and Byakuya met the 1st time, Byakuya stabbed Ichigo in such a way that his soul reaper powers were disconnected.

Uryu and his family were separated from the actual Quincy’s, because of this, Uryu didn’t have much training and was not able to develop his abilities to which he could use his Blut system, he’s still at an early stage of the Quincies…
Yeah It’s more likely that Bach is not Ichigo’s father, but Masaki, Ichigo’s mother is a Quincy… Plus It’s probably time for Ichigo to finally talk to Zangetsu and get the sword repaired and maybe even get his Hollow Powers back 😀

Very Interesting, it’s probably that Ichigo cannot be easily defeated, or that as he keeps on fighting Pure Quincy’s he keeps on absorbing and awakening his True Quincy Powers from his Soul, this in turn makes him more powerful and ultimately could defeat Haschwald and even Juha Bach…

All I know is Ichigo was a Human Became a shinigami turn into Vizard and Vasto Lorde and all of those powers lost because he used the “FINAL GETSUGA TENSHOU” and afterwards he acquire the Fullbring power and finally retrieved all these power once again. The confusing Part is.. was he a quincy also? I can’t accept the concept that he’s also a QUINCY, Don’t tell me kubo that he is also a Saiyan? remember! he met a shinigami and turned a shinigami, met also a vizard and he turned into vizard and fought with the vasto lorde and turned also a vasto lorde, met a fullbringer user’s became a fullbringer itself and now! he met bunch of Quincy’s.. dafuq! Rukia only awakens his Shinigami Powers and absorbs what Rukia has that time.

It’s not the first time characters look similar in Bleach. Kubo likes to recycle looks sometimes. I found it weird at first but got used to it already. Ivan resembled Grimmjow, the Quincy(whose name I can’t remember) who went to declare war on SS looked like Aizen after the Chrysalis form, etc.

Yeah they do look similar, since Juha Bach is a quincy, maybe it’s somehow connected to how Zangetsu looks also, plus from the thinking Ichigo might be the only person who has a Zanpakutou who’s a person, for example, from what I can remember, Renji has that snake monkey, Toshiro has the ice dragon..

Kubo has been giving hints since the start of the arrancar arc. Ichigo was called a true blood for a reason. The grand fisher called him that when Isshin told him that he was Ichigo’s dad. There were scenes which pictured Ichigo having a blanket with the quincy symbols which his mom gave.
This is there in every series.

I’ve seen in the manga there was a hollow fighting with Isshin from the past, well the hollow was simular to ichigo’s hollow form but that hollow was a expirement created by Aizen. That was Aizen’s first hollow, I think he test with a person to make different hollow types, that hollow could be Juha bach or it was just a created hollow?
So you guys say Juha Bach is Ichigo’s father? I suggested that maybe it could be a forced marriage with Misaki because they are Quincys. female Quincy marry other male Quincy?
I just got other ideas, Juha bach could not be Ichigo’s dad. He could be other family members of Masaki’s like a brother, a dad or a uncle? He just could be a step dad of Ichigo. Lol it could be that Masaki cheated on him and marry a different male that makes her life confortable.

The latest chapters reveals the real truth. Juha refers 2 Ichigo as his son bcuz Juha is the 1st Quincy. Therefore, he thinks of all other Quincy as his ‘children’. Ichigo is a Quincy. His mother was a pure blood Quincy from my understanding & like we already know, Isshin is his real father & a soul reaper. His mother was attacked by a Hollow upon her 1st meeting Isshin & that’s where he got his Hollow powers. He’s a hybrid of all 3 races Soul Reaper/Hollow/Quincy. There’s also a rumor that he’s the strongest of all 3 somehow.

I’ve read all chapters up to 618, Juha Bach is the first quincy, Masaki is a descendent of the quincy line(being a pure bread) she was supposed to marry Uryuu’s father as they were both pure blooded and cousins. Whoever she was attacked by shiro(a hybrid hollow concept created by Aizen) who later goes into Ichigo when he is born and turns into his inner hollow. Therefore Ichigo is A vissored (Shinigami/Hollow) quincy hybrid and Juha BAch is his 2000 year old Ancestor.
