Obito Uchiha has finally been revealed as the notorious Tobi within the latest Naruto 599 chapter! We see the past of Obito while he was within the three-man group with Kakashi and Rin! He discovers love for Rin but notices that she may like Kakashi! Kakashi improves himself while Obito only gets jealous.
Naruto 599 starts out with Obito Uchiha running towards the Entrance Ceremony where he can apply to be a student of the Ninja Academy. It seems like it too late when he notices all of his friends walking out from the building. He notices all of them looking at like.
As everyone passes by him he is saddened that he was too late in signing up. Both Kakashi and Obito share a state where Obito just gives him the get lost face. Suddenly Rin appears and gives him the Ninja Academy Entrance Papers when he is cheered up again as he hasn’t lost his chance yet.
We move onto the Chunin Exams 2nd Test Team Matches where certain teams fight each other. Both the Third and Fourth Hokage’s watch the match. Next up is Kakashi, Obito and Rin versus Gai, Ebisu and Genma. The match is missing one member.
Obito is helping out an elderly man, he receives a sweet for helping the man. He then runs as quickly as he cans to get to the match. He gets to the playing field where Kakashi gets pissed off as he arrives late.
The battle begins when Obito looks at Rin. He notices that he needs to finish this match as quickly as he can. He goes into the middle of Kakashi and Rin and tries to fire the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. As he does this he engulfs the sweet he had in his mouth. He starts to choke.
Might Gai quickly uses his Ninjutsu to smack him one in the face which swings the sweet he had in his mouth outwards, he’s quickly defeated. The team also seem to be defeated. After the match Rin tries to help Obito by placing a bandage on his face, Obito quickly shows that he’s strong and isn’t going to give up so easily. It seems that he wants to become a Hokage too.
Obito keeps on training with all of his powers and is finally able to shoot a Great Fireball. He’s also gotten a lot stronger from before. The Chunin Exam 3rd Test for Individual Matches start. Obito tells Gai that he’s going to beat him, but unfortunately Gai is defeats Obito once more.
Obito watches the battle of Kakashi vs. Gai from the stands, he notices that Rin is excited by the match because Kakashi is able to withstand Gai who seems pretty strong. Obito notices Rin and could possibly develop some feelings for her. Kakashi wins the match, he revives a certificate and a Flak Jacket. Rin is happy for him.
Obito keeps on training to get even stronger and he himself also obtains a certificate and a Flak Jacket. One day he gets to courage to meet up Rin with some flowers, he hides it behind him whilst Rin comes to him. He notices that some of their friends are also there.
Rin gives him some papers which state to throw a party for Kakashi for becoming a Jonin. Obito seems happy but also seems to be severely depressed that he’s chance to tell her is gone. Kakashi also notices Minato standing with his special Kunai, also Rin. He then remembers the moment he saw Obito nearly dead.
The mask which Naruto’s Clone broke comes off and Gai, Naruto and finally Kakashi all notice that this person is Obito Uchiha! We see that he has his Sharingan on the right eye and Rinnegan on the left. The right side of his head is severely distorted by the injuries he received from the rock which fell on him! Naruto 599 ends here!
WOW, Finally we know he identity of the mysterious Tobi! It’s OBITO UCHIHA! I can believe it, can you? I guess the people who stated that it was Danzo, Zetsu, Shisui, Madara, Kagami or even Izuna. It’s not! It’ was Obito Uchiha all along! I knew it! I seriously can’t wait for Naruto 600, it’s all going to be explained then! Can’t wait to see who is stronger, Obito or Kakashi!

Some things dont make sense. For example how did he give Nagato the Rinnegan? Nagato is way older then him and Kakashi and when he was a child Obito wasnt even born. Kishi better explain this asap.
Apart from the revelation we didnt see much except the epic wtf face from Guy, Kakashi and even Naruto.

Well at the time when the Akatsuki were formed, they were somewhat grown up, they had some strength and Tobi was there from the start, I think. Personally I feel as though what Tobi was was half correct, he may have improved and enhanced the Rinnegan by training Nagato, but it never really belonged to him. Hmm Nagato seems like he’s older by 10-15 years than Obito and Kakashi but if you connect the dots it could help…
This is what I think: We know that Jiraiya and Minato were teacher and student, before Naruto was born Jiraiya was somewhat old, lets say 40 years of age.
A few years (lets say 10) back Jiraiya(30 yrs old), Tsunade and Orochimaru faced Hanzo and met with the 3 Orphans, Nagato, Yahiko and Konan. They were, lets say 10 years old. After Jiraiya left them, lets say 5 years later, they were grown up and around 15/16 years of age.
At this point we could say it was 5 years before the birth of Naruto. At this point we know that Minato was a Forth Hokage with the Third Hokage, as seen in the 599 chapter pages 3, 4 and 7. Minato’s student Kakashi (became Jonin in this chapter) was still young at this point, He looked to me like he was still 10 -12 years of age. After the 5 years, during Naruto’s birth, Tobi could have been around 15 – 17, Kakashi also around 15-17… Tobi was defeated and escaped… At this point the Oraphans could have been 20/21 years old?
Although some of my numbers are messed, I hope you get them, and I think the span of things goes way longer than 5 years… possibly 10 or more…

Maybe it actually isnt. My first view of this might have been going in the wrong direction. If we presume that Kishi wanted to hide his true identity all along and make him look like the real Madara couldnt it then be that almost all Tobi claimed was done by the real Madara? Ok, nine tails inccident surely was done by Tobi but the thingy about “giving the Rinnegan” and “encouraging Yahiko” to create the Akatsuki it all fits in perfectly. He saved Obito, trained him, told him the whole story Uchiha,Senju and all that stuff. They just switched places after the real Madara died and he gave him the task to finish what he started: Tsuki no me Keikkaku and to probably revieve him with the help of Nagato. Obito just continued what Madara had left him before his death or better what he started.

Another thing is that i am sure Obito couldnt do his s/t ninjutsu without Mangekyo. Kishi on purpose didnt show it untill two chapters back just like with Itachi in part I where he almost finished off Kakashi with Mangekyo while it being only normal sharingan shown. This speaks for my above theory.

He’s plan was to control Kurama, but since Kushina is the vessel and Minato the husband, Obito had to go up against someone who was trying to stop him… Plus he knew that he would have to go up against his Sensei…

I think, the one who attacked Minato is not OBITO as TOBI, but someone else. because OBITO is still young that time and unable to master the space time ninjutsu.. I guess he’s been trained that time by TOBI as the real Madara or someone else.

Even now I dont believe its obito . Remember his hand just falls down during the fight with minato . I think zetsu and the real madara and another someone from the uchiha clan is involved . In the episode when tobi controls the mizukage and reveals his identity to kisame he had long hair just like the real madara . I think that the Tobi person is using a jutsu similar to orochimaru’s to extend his life . After madara’s death he could have used his body and revealed that one to kisame and now he’s using obito’s . This way it explains how he would have gave the rinnegan to nagato .

Also when the Kyuubi attacked Kakashi was still a child but i am sure that the masked man had the space time ninjutsu so therefore its Obito. Doesnt make sense ffs.

This is incorrect. Kakashi was among the young adults present at the Kyuubi’s attack on Konoha, where they were all told they were not allowed to participate.
So Kakashi wasn’t a kid anymore, and neither would Obito have been. Plus, Tobito was hidden behind a mask during the time, so we can’t nail down a definite age for him unless we agree he was around the same age as Kakashi.

I reckon….It was Madara who controlled kyubi and fought 4th hokage. During that time (before or after the battle against 4th hokage) Madara might have been training Obito (thus becoming corrupt, do remember that Madara has Rinnegan as well so he was able to show obito how to get one also). And during the arc where Itachi kill the entire uchiha clan, he thought he was assited by madara but it was actually Obito who resume Madara’s place as Madara has already pass away due to unknown reasons. Far fetch but this will be a more possible as i don’t think obito will be so strong so fast to fight against his master during such a tender age. (Kakashi and guy were still young and not strong enough to even participate in battle)

No he was 14 years old. If you calculate in Shipp Kakashi is 30 and Naruto 16. And that day Naruto was born. And this means Tobito was also 14 when he fought against Minato. This doesnt make sense. I hope we get good explanation next week…

Are you saying that Zetsu basically reconstructed most of the body parts which Tobi has on him now? And that the boulders which hit Obito destroyed him but the Zetsu fixed him up? Plus the scar was kept as a reminder for Obito to show Kakashi?

Well the pain Nagato felt when he lost his best friend turned him into a monster that wanted a constant age of war, with brief moments of peace…..so im guessing in obito’s case it must something to do with kakashi not being able to protect Rin, and her death must be the pain that made obito evil and insane with his theory of ninja eutopia…

Yea..it seems that Obito loved Rin similar to how Naruto cared for Sakura and Rin loved Kakashi just as Sakura cares for Sasuke. So it would make sense for him to say something like, “Even though she loved you, you let her die” etc. and be all rage/pain….or it’ll just get explained in the next 2 chapters.

Yes tobi is obito but, i think that obito is probably one of the many vessels that tobi has used throughout time and that the original tobi is probably a part of Madara’s soul. You can say its kind of similar to orichimaru’s body possesion.

This chapter is really confusing, but I still thought it was Obito, i mean if Minato had already become an hokage before the nine tails attacked the village it couldn’t have been Obito dressed as Tobi that fought the Minato, and if Iruka was young when the nine tails attacked his village and killed his parent’s is Kishi saying that Kakashi and Obito were older than him .

Or maybe it was the first time he used the Space Time Technique, he used it so that he could escape. OR!! even thought it was a massive boulder.. Obito used the technique right on time that it only made a small injury on his face and didn’t crush it! Even though he was a kid, he mastered such a technique whilst he was young…

Kabuto didn’t know anything about Rin, she was just a simple ninja… she didn’t seem powerful enough for Kabuto bring back. Although she could have been brought back as a secret person for Kabuto to place between Obito and Kakashi later on in the manga…

The timing and the voice of Tobi and how he acted, plus how old he looked as well as his height looked suspicious to all of us, he could have been Obito, but since he knew powerful techniques and such it is hard for us to guess that it is really Obito, or could be someone else..

It all seems confusing but one thing i can say is obito is going to thrash kakashi and Guy because seeing that Tobi was their former comrade they wont want Naruto to fight against him and Naruto may probably meet up with madara and begin an epic battle.

there are 2 mask guy. the firs one is the real madera. Then he switch to obito as tobi to lies around. Obito is not in control or anything because all the saying toward kakashi is from obito n kakashi personal life. Why tobi knows so much if he’s not in control???….someone or madera must had told obito(tobi) the whole things to change his mind just like how Tobi told sasuke everything.

It could be, but the whole rock incident was an accident, he never planned it, I think that he had planned to escape and go to the dark side and this was his opportunity, he knew that he would need his eye later on, so he gave it to Kakashi….

You guys over complicate things too much. Tobi is a fake name to hide his identity. It fit in well because if Tobi said he was Madara and he had unexplainable abilities, commited heinous acts, control the Kyubi and have a sharingan then they would believe him. It fit in perfectly. IF ANYONE SAYS THEY KNEW IT THEY ARE FULL OF IT. They were only a couple of things that might have slightly suggested that he was obito, such as the whole on which side of the face and the fact that he and Kakashi shared the ability to suck in people or objects into other dimensions due to his sharingan eye belonging to Obito, but even those things are debatable!
