Naruto Shippuden 349 starts a new filler arc in which  the story of Kakashi is told while at the same time Obito is with the Akatsuki and chasing after Nagato. We quickly learn that Kakashi is still upset about Rin and Obito’s death. At the same time he learns that Minato has become Hokage while Orochimaru and Danzo oppose Hiruzen’s decision, now Minato asks Kakashi to join the ANBU. 

Naruto Shippuden 349 begins as Kakashi has a nightmare of killing Rin from which he notices that Rin’s blood has been stained on his hand, he cannot handle it. We arrive at the split point of the Leaf, Rock and Sand villages. We see the leaf try make peace with the Rock but they deny it and mention that they would like to fight. However the Fourth Kazekage appears with a lot more ninjas with him.

At the rock village, they don’t seem to want to enter into the peace treaty however they don’t want to due to the unity of the stone. Furthermore the leaf seem to know how to fight. In the village, we see Guy and the others to which they ask Kakashi to join them to eat however he walks on without answering.

They notice that it could most likely be due to Obito and Rin, there is hole left in his heart. He cannot stop remembering it. Kakashi looks at the book named how Shinobi should die when he notices someone who looks just like Rin. He’s very upset and tired of it all at this point.

The Leaf elders as well as Danzo and Hiruzen are talking about the future of the village. After talking and Danzo making a point that they should go to war and defeat their enemy. Hiruzen mentions that he’s willing to give up his title and announce someone else. At the meeting, they mention that there needs to be a new one.

Danzo mentions Orochimaru, Hiruzen seems to agree that he’s good at war, however he has a bad heart and only looks for war and thus is no good to be a Hokage. Hiruzen mentions Minato to be, everyone seems to agree that he’s the best choice. Minato arrives to which he’s told that he will be the Fourth Hokage. Minato goes home to tell Kushina about the good news, she is happy about it.

At Orochimaru’s hideout they talk about that Orochimaru’s plans will help them take over the Leaf. Danzo makes plans for such a thing. Everyone receives the news that Minato is said to be the Hokage. Kakashi is also told by Guy. They go to see the celebrations. Hiruzen gives the Hokage hat to Minato to which he wears it proudly. Kushina is happy for him.

Kakashi tries to remember what Minato had told him, however now he is able to use Obito’s eye to help him perfect his Chidori he mentions. He enables it, Guy arrives and tells him that he’s been called for. Minato gives him a mission to which he tells him that he needs to go and retrieve the peace treaty document.

While he goes he encounters a man, he enables his Chidori but see’s Kushina’s face screaming at him to which he’s quickly affected. He nearly dies when Guys arrives to help him. He nearly collapses after seeing Rin’s face. Minato is told about this and goes to the hospital Kakashi is in. He tells him that he wants him to be his right hand man.

He is also told that he’d like for him to be an ANBU and tell him whatever Danzo is doing. He goes to the ANBU HQ and gets his gear, he wears it and shows how awesome he really looks. We now begin the story to which Kakashi is now a ANBU. Naruto Shippuden 349 ends here.

What an awesome episode, can’t wait for next week’s Naruto Shippuden 350 to see some more awesome episode of how Kakashi will go through being a ANBU working for Minato and Danzo. Can’t wait.
