Naruto Shippuden 348 shows the death of Yahiko by which we see Hanzo try and take the village by taking out the leader of the Akatsuki, however he’s faced by something else in general. Before this, Akatsuki celebrate their partnership with Hanzo but fail to realize that it’s a trap and that Hanzo only wants the village. Yahiko’s death reveals Nagato’s real power as he quickly enables and shows the Gedo Mazo, he even brings back Yahiko, as one of the pains subjects. 

Naruto Shippuden 348 begins as Yahiko wonders about the recent things he’s just done. He mentions that Nagato should be the leader for the fact that he killed someone and didn’t like what he did. He had never killed someone. He mentions that he has the mark of a hero and a special symbol known as the Rinnegan.

After a short time, news arrive from Hanzo himself, he mentions that he’s pleased with what the Akatsuki has done and he’d like to meet with him, to which they do and negotiate peace, he would like him to negotiate for him. They shake hands and it’s done.

We then see a happy Yahiko and Nagato to which he mentions that they don’t need a symbol, because everyone seems to be just fine following his dream, it seems that all is going well for them.  They will both go to the meeting with Hanzo, however tonight they should celebrate. Konan is out looking at another place.

It seems that Hanzo and Danzo are talking about taking out the Akatsuki. Konan reaches a place and finds a corpse to which it explodes, she realizes that it’s from Hanzo and the people who have captured her seem to be from his clan. It seems that Hanzo wants the Hidden Rain, to which he’s going this far to get it.

We see Nagato think about the good news when Obito arrives and tells him that he needs to leave them and come with him as soon as possible, there is something wrong going to happen, and if he wants to stay and do this then he will feel pain. Yahiko wakes up both head off towards Hanzo.

A message arrives for Kyusuke, to which when he reads it he knows something bad is going to happen. They all head out while he reveals that the Leaf’s ANBU are also at the same place Nagato and Yahiko are at, therefore they should go and help.

While later Obito and Zetsu appear and quickly mention that they’re going to stop them, they must not interfere with what is going to happen. Zetsu’s appear and attack while the Akatsuki defends. Kyusuke quickly runs towards Obito but passes through him and gets himself stabbed. Obito tells him that Nagato’s Rinnegan must be at its truest form and thus he must put him to the test.

There is another path  for him. Kyusuke holds onto Obito while Daibutsu is told to make a water prison to which he does while at the same time Kyusuke forms cement while mentioning that he wont let him destroy the dream of the Akatsuki. However Obito quickly uses his technique and disappears from there.

He then seems to have fallen, however Obito is still there and kills everyone using his wood technique. They then go back to where Nagato and Yahiko are. We see Yahiko get threatened by which he should kill himself to save Konan. Nagato keeps worrying while he picks the Kunai up, he turns to Yahiko to which he quickly runs towards him and gets stabbed mentioning to stay alive with Konan.

Nagato gets upset and seems to have gotten pissed off right at that second, he repels all the kunai’s and even faces a bunch of explosion to which he’s legs get burned. He gets pissed off while the ANBU attack, he calls for the Gedo Mazo and attacks them, he even goes as far as to use a dragon to which it pulls out the soul of many of the soldiers there.

The dragon faces Hanzo, to which it’s raised and quickly attacks it while he quickly moves off somewhere else. We see a completely new Nagato to which he’s gone completely crazy. Obito mentions that all three of them will be in his Dream world for sure. We then see after a while that Nagato is on a machine, we see Konan return to him. We see a Nagato that speaks just like Obito at this point, then see Yahiko with many piercings and black rods which seem to be controlled. Naruto Shippuden 348 ends here.

A great episode and a good recap of how it all went down from Obito’s point of view, he certainly did an awesome job of getting Nagato on his side after such a long period of time. Can’t wait for next week’s Naruto Shippuden 349, titled “A Mask That Hides the Heart”, when we see Kakashi’s Arc and how it all went down based on his past compared to Obito’s. Ps.
