Naruto 668 begins by showing the awesome Might Guy releasing his Eight Gate, he’s chosen his path and doesn’t want to deviate from it. We also see his father, Might Dai, in action teaching Guy (Gai) a thing or two about the Springtime of Youth. Once released, Guy’s chakra heads towards his heart and his power-up begins. Madara watches carefully as Guy’s speed and power increases.
Naruto 668 begins as Guy begins to prepare to open the Eight and Final gate. Kakashi and everyone else tells him that nobody wants this to happen, neither would his father. Guy mentions that he wants this to happen. Guy rips his jacket apart and tells Lee to smile and watch.
We see a little of the past when Guy is telling Lee about his goal, and how great ninja’s do not need Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, so believe in your own way. Guy proceeds, he runs and enables his Eight Gate Release as Madara can see his chakra going to his heart. The Gate of Death is about to release.
We move to the past where we see Guy and Dai, who is his father. Guy asks Dai that he’s already five years old, he should be able to run 500 laps around the campus. Dai mentions that there is nothing he can do since he’s still young. He mentions that he shouldn’t apologize for his own hard effort. He’s also sorry he intruded upon his effort. They hug.
People watching them mentions if what he’s doing isn’t child abuse, and the kind of clothes they wear. Dai tells them that he’s happy for their cheering. Guy tells Dai that they weren’t cheering them on. Dai tells Guy that his Springtime of Youth is just beginning, during this time he must not look behind, just like Dai. The fact that he cannot use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu makes him happy.
Dai tells Guy that he must realise his weakness and from them he must shine, then he will be able to see his Taijutsu shine brightly. Even at his young age, he must realise what his true strength is. Guy asks if he can become really strong. Dai mention that weakness can be turned into strength, being wordy is a sign of politeness, being noisy is a sign of being busy, being stubborn is a sign of sincerity. Guy then asks what hairy people are like.
Some shinobi’s talk to Dai in a unrespectful way to which Guy finds it to be rude, he gets beaten up and is found in a hospital hurt. Dai arrives to ask him why he did that. Guy asks him why he always faces forward like that. Guy then asks when does the springtime of youth end, Dai tells him as long as he doesn’t look behind it will not end.
Guy then mentions that even when he dies, it won’t be over. Dai tells him that this is the climax to his Springtime of Youth, Guy shouts at him mentioning that when he’s dead he won’t have a thing to do, and if that comes he won’t have anything and will get beaten up just like he did today. Dai puts his hand on his head and tells him that a true is not beating someone up but in fact protecting something important to him. He just wanted to protect his springtime of youth, that is all. They both cry and hug it out.
Dai shows him The Eight Inner Gates, a forbidden technique to which he mentions that he’s put it lots of effort into perfecting it. As his father he’d like to pass it onto him and thus Guy will make it even more special. The technique is great to which only Guy can create his own rules when using the technique.
Guy and a few others were cornered by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, to which they mention if little kids from other villages know about them then they must be quite famous now. Out of nowhere Dai appears and mentions for them to run and that he’ll buy them some time. Guy tells them he won’t be able to affect any of them, however Dai mentions that he still has the Eight Gate Released Formation, Gate of Death left.
Might Guy releases his Eight Gates Released Formation to which he wants to protect something precious to him, to even die for it. Lee, Kakashi, Minato and even Madara watch. Madara notices red steam to which it indicates the blood vapor, he mentions that the colour seems to be different, something similar to that of a dried and rotten leaf of autumn falling to the ground.
Guy mentions that this may be true but when they fall and rot, it will be nourishment for the new fresh leaves and ensuring the fresh leaves bud and usher in a new spring, to which is the climax of the springtime of youth! This is when it burns its deepest crimson red! Guy gets really close to Madara and enables his Night Elephant! Naruto 668 ends here!
What an awesome and crazy chapter, Guys is going all out against the notorious Madara! Hopefully he will be able to get a few good hits on Madara rendering him useless. I really can’t wait to see next week’s Naruto 669, it’s going to be awesome seeing the Eight Gate in action.

So Gai can not use ninjutsu or genjutsu. It’s a shame to see him go like this and he might not be able to achieve anything against Madara.

Might Guy better get in some good hits. I’d like to see a good fight before Madara anhiliates him and we get back to Naruto/Sasuke’s tag battle against him. The end is near and the saga has been a good one. I can’t say that I’m a fan of Dai though…..

My exact thoughts, although I think I understand that Dai protected what he loved and thus he had to go full on against the Seven Swordsman, I wonder if they were killed because of him.

I’m assuming that Dai destroyed a few of them at the very least to make room for Zabuza and Kisame, since they were not on that roster. It’s been so long since I read the part where the 7 swordsmen came back to life that I forgot which one was which. Dai is definitely heroic, but he couldn’t be fleshed out too much since he only got this chapter.
One thing that I didn’t like was that the Leaf Village look like a bunch of jerks…again! This is why I don’t mind when guys like Pain and Madara blow up the village. The villagers were mean to Naruto, mean to Might Guy, and if we count filler…..it gets pretty ugly!

love everything about it, though some how I feel like guy will survive to see naruto ordained as a hokage. this is an interesting technique which allows the user to alter the rules, wat rules I wonder. anyway madara is in for shock

back in the original naruto, kakashi said that the 8th gate surpasses even the kages, but i dont think its stronger than 5 kages, and madara defeated the 5 kages with his normal power. so i have my hopes down that guy can do some serious damage unless the 8th gate actually give guy an insane amount of power

in naruto shippuden episode 329, kakashi and guy were about to be blown away by five tailed beast bombs which were pointing at them in close range. guy wanted to activate the 8th gate, to stop all the bombs at once bt he was stopped by kakashi and naruto came and deflect all the bombs away. this tells me that the 8th gate is nothing to be taken lightly. I mean guy know very well how super powerful madara is so he won’t just sacrifice himself for nothing. well madara will win at the end. but he is in for a major shock, watch this space.

Its definately guys final moments and if u think the 8th gate is weak your definately wrong trlolololol the eigth gate is the most powerful so wait and see what his final gate can do…..Although it kinda sucks that guy has to die lol oh well you gotta take out some characters right?

my thoughts exactly, but I still believe he will survive this. what I’m curious about is what are the rules can he alter with this technique course that could be the most dangerous thing about this technique other than the brute physical power that most of us think. since he is evaporating blood and that’s not normal, maybe this technique allows him to alter the laws of nature.

The main point of this is 4 him 2 qet a vital hit on madara…which others can xploit..pendinq naruto’s return…buh am pretty sure gai will survive daht technique..maybe it miqht leave him paralysed 4 some time…buh if he alters the rules(who knows)…DAI=qod of the bushy brows….
