Gran Rey Cero! Ichigo vs Yhwach – Bleach 676

Bleach 676 see’s the power in action as Ichigo uses both his Hollow and Quincy counterparts along with his own power in order to launch himself and his attacks towards Yhwach. He completely destroys the palace they’re in as he mixes his Getsuga Tensho along with the power of a Cero in order to produce a Gran Rey Cero which definitely gets a crushing attack on Yhwach.

Bleach 676 begins as we see the smoke dissipate from Ichigo’s transformation. Orihime looks upon it and notices the horn, to which she is reminded by the Ichigo of when he fought against Ulquiorra. She calls his name, he turns his head and smiles at her as he mentions that she should relax as this time, it’s definitely still him.

Yhwach mentions that his resemblance to a hollow is striking, with his new form, it seems like it’s mixed his powers together. Ichigo mentions that he is correct and that the Quincy powers he inherited from his mother, Zangetsu and the Shinigami abilities from his father which was the Hollow within him.

While they were always fighting, they’ve finally reached a balance which allowed his Zangetsu to get reforged that became the swords he holds. If they remain under control, then the balance will be maintained. This balance must be kept for his form to hold. Whenever he unleashes massive amounts of Shinigami powers, his Hollow side always comes out.

If he was to use his own Quincy abilities, which he did when he fought against Yhwach just now, it nudged the Quincy (Zangetsu) to be drawn out. Yhwach smiles as Ichigo jumps forward a little. Ichigo tells Orihime that she should spread out a little, to keep her rikka defending his reiatsu, as she makes herself safe.

Ichigo raises his reiatsu as he blows up the top of the palace they’re in. Yhwach calls his power magnificent as he also prepares to draw his own sword. Ichigo has already approached him as he draws his sword, he holds Yhwach’s back as he uses his own power and Zanpakuto against Yhwach. However, Yhwach defends against Ichigo’s sword as he mentions that he must be joking if he really wants to cut him.

With such strength, he could never hope to pierce him. Ichigo is pushed upwards by Yhwach’s attack. This time, we see Ichigo preparing for a Getsuga Tensho which Yhwach already predicts. Ichigo seems to be doing something different here, he raises his Zanpakuto as he begins to form something else above him.

Yhwach mentions that it doesn’t seem like a conventional Getsuga Tensho, he seems to be fusing his own Hollow abilities with his Shinigami powers in this attack. Ichigo calls out “Gran Rey Cero” which translates to Flash of the Hollow King, as he unleashes his intense and incredible attack upon the body of Yhwach, He seems to have cut right through Yhwach in an effort to defeat him. Bleach 676 ends here.

A fantastic chapter if you ask me, seems like the chapter has brought us some incredibly powerful abilities from Ichigo. On top of which, the chapter felt a little short, but the pages have used two sides to create these incredible attacks, that is why it has felt a little short. Overall, its great chapter, can’t wait for next week’s Bleach 677, which will see what happens next with these two.

At this point all I want to see is Isshin and Ryuken fight someone because they only showed up for one chapter but they were not seen for such a long time. Come on Kubo. But I did like that Ichigo finally used something different. If I recall correctly, a gran rey cero was to only used outside Las Nochas because it would distort space so the fact that Ichigo used it speaks volumes. His white sword looks cool and he for sure is very strong but yhwach is probably more so. I was expecting yhwach to pull out his other sword but instead he pulls out his reishi sword. I take this as a sign of not going full out but im not sure because he used his other sword when he fought yamaji and ichibei but he also used his reishi sword to slice yamaji in two and he even used it against ichibei too so I’m not too sure if he is underestimating Ichigo or not. Yhwach did say that he had to use his sword so I take it that he is not completely oblivious to Ichigo’s power. I also like that beginning scene where Orihime remembers the last time Ichigo turned into a hollow. I’m curios to see what the effects of a hollows cero would be like to yhwach…

Indeed, Yhwach is shocked by Ichigos power, he even said that he is amazed by it, he smiles is is happy to fight him. I don’t quite remember the Gran Ray Cero from before but I’ll take what you said. It looks pretty damn epic!

Looks like Ichigo’s hybrid form is pretty powerful. He was fast enough to stop Yhwach’s Spirit Weapon and slash him, even though Yhwach’s Blut Vene tanked the hit. The fact that he didn’t get destroyed when Yhwach slashed him back was pretty impressive. I believe an Espada can only use a Gran Rey Cero when they mix their blood with the Cero and they use it outside Las Noches. It seems Ichigo not only mixed his blood from his wound to his Cero, he also mixed in a Getsuga Tensho, which created a ultra powerful Gran Rey Getsuga, which should surly get through Yhwach’s Blut Vene to an extent. But now I’m worried for Ichigo and Orihime when Yhwach makes a comeback next chapter.

Indeed, read up on the Gran Rey Cero, seems like using it in Las Noches would destroy the palace, can’t believe Ichigo was able to even use it in his first try. Plus liked how he mentioned that he needs to train to master all his techniques, which just points to the fact that Ichigo is definitely on the rough side when talking about his power. Orihimes reaction to his “yo” was so trolly lol.

Take nothing away from Kubo’s drawing, i can tell that he put alot into this one, its no wonder its short unlike the usual chapters, i too liked the beginning scene of Orihime@trinin, this chapter is short but take nothing away from it, its simply awesome, makes one wish for the anime to come alot sooner…

I think Ichigo’s power level now is probably the same if not abit more than wen he came out from dangai since he has alot more stability compared to then now that he has full grasp of his power unlike then. will it be enough to stand against Yhwach!? Well, he blocked his sword with his bare-hand even with Ichigo’s power-up & he is still doesnt seem serious enough, more like he is still examining Ichigo’s capabilities..Maybe this getsuga-grand rey cero will make him change his approach, whether Ichigo manages to nick him a little i’ll be fine with it since Yhwach wasn’t taking him serious to begin with, given his power he should be able to tank this & that in itself will speak of Ichigo’s strength at the moment just fine..I’ll be pretty disappointed if ichigo now gets the edge simply bcoz of this since this power-up is suppose to give him a fighting chance since its not even his final form, & why to i get a feeling like ichigo still hasn’t figured everything about his current power since he came from the royal guard! i mean the way he points that he couldn’t willingly use this without the nurge from Yhwach to make him kick start this form clearly shows he hasn’t yet mastered any of his power & rather goes with the flow, no wonder he is such an oddity & no one knows his limit since he doesnt know what he is capable of himself, hence why he is a war potential bcoz of his latent potential & why his power is so inconsistent in comparison to the others, i think its why he is strong despite not possessing the mental forte to match, he is simply strong wen he wants to be(or rather wen the plot wants him to be)

Totally agree with you, in terms of Ichigo, I’m sure he has the upper hand with the big surprise here, but this is a GOD we are talking about. Yhwach will definitely have some tricks up his sleeve to counter Ichigo.

Ichigo gave the weakness of his form up already but Yhwach probly knew what it was anyway but still I never understand when they explain there weakness while they are fighting. I was expecting his form to be strong so I’m not surprised Ichigo hit him Ichibē was also able to hit Yhwach also before his Almighty was active if I remember correctly and Yhwach was acting just like he is now so I don’t think he is surprised but maybe a bit happy at how strong Ichigo has got. On almost every single site ppl are starting to think that this is going to be the final fight and the end but I really hope its not. We got Aizen Boro Deadman Isshin Ryukin Uryū Jugram Gerard all left that need to be addressed if it just ended with out any of them being addressed especially Aizen I’d be extremely disappointed.

Very solid chapter! I’ve been waiting for Hollow Ichigo to show up for what feels like years at this point. It’s been such a long time. His fight with Bach’s definitely going to be a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to Ichigo winning, only to be stabbed in the back by Aizen and for the war to take a big twist in the plot. Hopefully the fight is long though. If Gerard could get 5-10 chapters for his fight, Ichigo deserves at least that much screen time.

Aizen for prez! Im shocked that you think Ichigo will win against Yhwach, and on top of that for Aizen to stab Ichigo in the back. I’d think that Renji and Rukia might have something to say when that happens. Yeah, in terms of timeline, I see Ichigo getting a solid amount of time here.

Yhwach being shocked by ichigo`s gan rey cero means he didn’t see the future of this fight which is a great thing to ichigo but he also might be faking this to make ichigo go to his limits probably to steal his powers (my opinion

Yhwach’s eyes r closed so far during this fight. Yhwach said he wants to saviour this fight with Ichigo so he’s not using his almighty to its fullest.

Aizen is immortal so him dying won’t be happening, him being anti hero is interesting. I see him being the final villain more than anything, since BLEACH & everything started with him it’d be great if it ended with him as well.

Given where things have got now, its clear that nothing evolves around him anymore..& if u look at it, its more like he too played along Yhwach’s keikaku..right now we are playing in waay deeper waters & i dont think no matter how u look at it, even with the Hogyoku, Aizen is nothing but a war potential & he wouldnt have bn one if it wasnt for the Hogyoku, he possess the same threat as Ichibei, Ichigo, zaraki & urahara..& no matter how powerful the hogyoku is, i think its safe to assume its not above the soul-king parameters, which Yhwach currently is, Yhwach in base is stronger than Hogyoku aizen IMO, I see guys like Nimaiya & Ichibei soloing Aizen, & even being able to kill him given their abilities..Aizen is highly over-rated & so r his espadas, but in truth, Yhwach & his quincies have proved & posed an even greater threat than Aizen ever could

Lol different views on this clearly. Obviously nothing revolves around him anymore, he hasn’t done anything for so many chapters. Hogyoku has unlimited power & potential, & Aizen did not even come close to mastering it. He’s had 2 Years to meditate & to speak with both his Zanpakto & Hogyoku. Ichigo achieved his highest point, Mugestu, in a few months with Zangestu, so imagine Aizen now. Aizen isn’t overrated but whatever its your opinion. Yhwach & sternritters had centuries to build & prepare for this war, whereas Aizen & espadas had only a few months. Yhwach & quincies ruthless attitude & hate is something I believe makes them a big threat, where as Aizen showed too much mercy & respect during his fights. We’ll just have to wait & see what Kubo does.

I guess we will just have to wait & see then, all im saying is that i dont see him becoming the main villain again, i by no means under-estimate his abilities as wel as the hogyoku’s, Its just that i think he has little part to play in the story right now for him to get a slip into the grand scale of things(mainly bcoz of the hogyoku’s power) & become the main villain, i dont see that happening but i guess we’ll just have to wait & see

Aizen’s Zanpakuto was destroyed. He claimed the Hogyoku said he no longer needed one. And Kisuke said the Hogyoku disowned Aizen as its master. So we will see what happens. I honestly don’t believe Aizen will he the final villain. The only one I think is at this point is Yhwach or maybe even the former Soul King. Considering Aizen’s position in this war, I doubt he’ll be around for very long. Yhwach had his army preparing for war because of the first war. Yhwach created the Sternritter so they could invade the Serietei. The Gotei 13 seemed to be created to fight the Quincy. Yhwach said Yamamoto and the other captains were blood thirsty murderers and they struck fear into his heart. Yamamoto was a tyrant and Unohana was a mass murder, so Yhwach’s claim seems to be true. I always found it strange why the Soul King was sealed by the Shinigami and that two of his three parts are Quincy that follow Yhwach. He was surprised that Mimihagi was siding with the Shinigami. That’s because it lived with them for centuries and grew to care for them. All of this points towards the Shinigami being the antagonists. I also find it strange that Quincy in general have incomplete souls and they can only gain their true power is if they gain a piece of Yhwach’s soul. And in the Friends flashback, their was a suspicious lack of Hollow. And the ruins in Hueco Mundo that Orihime and Chad visited seemed to be home to a civilization. I find it possible that Hollow were created by Shinigami to combat Quincy, because Quincy cannot handle Hollow Reiatsu entering their own Reiryoku and becoming one with it.

Aizen’s Zanpakuto broke but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it, Byakuya had a worse situation but still has his. As for the Hoguku, its not a like a being that can get up & leave. Its permanently fused with Aizen, so he can control it & master it again if he wants, which is what I think he did as he grew stronger in Muken. You can tell Kubo loves to write & draw Aizen, he’s one of his favorites, so im hoping for something special.
