Fairy Tail 479 see’s the defeat of Jacob after he’s fooled into allowing for Lucy to bring back everyone including Brandish and Marin who were also trapped. On top of which, we see Natsu use his Blaze Dragon Kin’s Demolition Fist in order to fight against him. Zeref along with his army wait for a while but then get ready to move towards Fairy Tail.
Fairy Tail 479 begins as Zeref along with his army are about to begin their journey towards Fairy Tail. Invel mentions that someone like Natsu attacking them is a problem as he was really strong. During this point we see members of their army mention things like 5 members already being eliminated. All while they try and get their motivation up when they mention that Zeref is there to help if anything does wrong.
On top of this, we see Zeref mention that his doubts about both Natsu and Mavis have been cleared, he will definitely kill them. Jacob fights against Natsu and Lucy, at each point he attacks and is able to handle both of them. Jacob mentions that he shall begin destroying their team mates one by one.
This is when Lucy mentions that he should wait as Brandish and Marin are both in there. He checks and brings them out. Lucy quickly steps in and brings out Gemini allowing her to copy the Marin that is there. She quickly uses Gemini to activate Space Commandment. This allows for all the magic in the area, especially the spatial magic to stop working.
This in turn allows for the members of Fairy Tail to return. They thank Lucy for the help, Jacob tries to do the same spell again, but Happy steps in to stop him. This also allows for Makarov to step in and smash Jacob out of the building after he disrespect Mavis. Makarov also throws out Natsu along with him, it allows Natsu to use his Blaze Dragon King’s Demolition Fists which destroys and defeats Jacob. Fairy Tail 479 ends here.
A pretty awesome chapter, Jacob has been defeated. And it seems that Jacob has been defeated, adding to the number of people who have already been defeated. What will Zeref do if he no longer has any more people in his army that can truly match up to Fairy Tail’s level. Nevertheless, can’t wait for next week’s Fairy Tail 480, titled “The Northern Gravestone”, should be awesome.

I have stopped being hyped up for the Spriggan now…I had a feeling would do this, he builds potential powerful enemies, but has them defeated someone who in theory should be weaker than them:
Elfman vs Bachus (who is Erza stated was as strong as she was)
Jura vs Laxus (Jura was said to become stronger in the last 7 years, and Laxus only had 3 months to train for the games)
Sting should have been able to beat the 5 members of the wounded Fairy Tail members, but backed down like coward when just looking like them, THUS DESTROYING HIS CHARACTER!!!!!
Not to mention the 7 YEAR TIMESKIP SHOULD HAVE MADE JURA, LYON & BACHUS ETC STRONGER BUT THEY STILL LOST!!!!
PLUS NOT ONE MEMBER OF FAIRY TAIL LOST IN THE FINAL MATCH OF THE GAME….I THINK THIS JUST PROVES WHAT I ALWAYS THINK…HIRO IS TOO AFRAID TO DRAW ANY OF THE FAIRY TAIL MEMBERS ACTUALLY LOSING IN AN ALL OUT FIGHT.
THE ONLY CHARACTER I HAVE ANY HYPED FOR IS ACNOLOGIA, I WANT TO SEE HIM ON HIS RAMPAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what a lot of these series are lacking. I would love to see these characters fight, and as you mentioned they are 7 years behind. So the others should have been 7 years ahead stronger. But the series hasn’t really changed. It seems like Fairy Tail will win even this war, somehow.

I know, why the Spriggans do have amazing powers, and it takes a lot of heavy attacks to bring them down, I think the main issue I have is that the battles aren’t long enough, if they were 3 or 4 chapters long, that might be alright, because when their 2 chapters, it doesn’t seem their worth the hype.

I lose my hope again spriggan now…even a competen mage like jacob ended in just a few chapter..the hype mashima build in prolog chapter failure and turn in to nakama and nakama power again..

You are right, Spriggan should have been the strongest of the strong, but they are nothing more then just soldiers who aren’t even that strong. What has Zeref even been up to.

its fairytail so don’t expect them to lose..imagine were even the weakest and wounded defeat the strongest and powerful…it happens in naruto and bleach….naruto vs pain at the end pain could have summoned the gedo mazo and won but he lost…i am tired of over hyped and weak characters…in code grass they killed euphemia,lelouch and his love interest… now that’s tragic super awesome anime

I don’t think any of these series will have their main characters or members from the guild. Even if they die, they’ll somehow come up with some story so they show up again. Just like with Mirajane’s little sister.
