Watch Hai to Gensou no Grimgar (Anime)

Like many video-based games, such as Sword Art Online and Log Horizon, Hai to Genou no Grimgar seems a very different from those. While Sword Art concentrates largely on the fact that they’re in  game of sorts trying to get out and Log Horizon combines the story with stats. Hai to Gensou no Grimgar isn’t based on any of that, none of the characters are OP and there isn’t only just one main character.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

Haruhiro enters a world he’s never been in before, surrounded by darkness, he opens up to a new adventure when him and other enter a world without any knowledge of the old world. They enter what seems like a game world where there are goblins, different classes and so on. They learn how to fight, depending on the class, special magical spells and so on.

In order to survive in this harsh world, they form a party with others by trying to fight in the world of Grimgar. The anime seems spectacular, it doesn’t concentrate largely on Haruhino himself, but the overall fact that it’s an anime based on a team, it seems to be developing all the character really well and nicely. Plus the animation, design and everything from the first two episodes is really good.

I started watching this anime for the similar aspects of Sword Art Online. After two episodes I am still intrigued and episode 2 was pretty intense. I usually give new animes at least five episodes before I purge them so this one still has some time to really hook me. I’m hoping it stays interesting.

Totally agreed, I give it same number of eps. Usually I’m very picky, so I usually only watch if I believe the anime will be good, otherwise first five minute will mean the end of that anime. This one pretty good, so I’ll probably finish it.

This anime is very unique. At this point I think comparisons to SAO and Log Horizon aren’t doing it too much justice. The animation (and soundtrack for that matter) are gorgeous and the characters make the show to be way more relatable.

I often thought that this is what SAO should have been, but failed to be xD
I think that anyone stuck in such a situation would experience the darkness that the Grimgar guys feel. That was something missing from SAO i think.

I honestly think that SAO’s first season was really good, after that it went down hill really quickly for me. I was hyped for the second season that I wrote about it on here weekly, but it just wasn’t that great. And thanks for commenting on here 🙂
