Mech-Anime’s Are Pretty Cool

As part of the 30 day anime challenge, I will be answering the question of which mech anime is a favourite, although I know that I’ve not watched a ton of them, I still have a pretty okay number of anime which I think are pretty cool, even if it’s no the main anime category I concentrate on.

Aldnoah Zero HeaderMech anime’s are cool, I’ve not really watched a ton of them but from my short list of mech anime, I’m sure I can choose one. I’d like to begin with an anime I’ve previously watched and really liked. This being Aldnoah.Zero, currently one of my favourite anime which I mentioned in a previous post. It’s an anime which concentrates on two different colonies in Earth and Mars which were split, they fight for the rights to live in the world.

It’s a fantastic anime, I think those that have yet to check out, I suggest you do so whenever you can find some time. On top of which, It recently appeared on my Netflix, so I think I’ll have to check it out whenever I get some time.

Gundam Iron-Blooded OrphansI’ve recently also been watching a pretty awesome anime which is based on mechs and mechs fighting. I’ve not watched the recent episodes, but I believe that the hype is real and that it’s going to be a good anime. It’s based off the Gundam series, it’s called Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. From what I hear, it’s been getting some great reviews from a number of bloggers and review sites. I still need to catchup.

I’d like to pick an anime which does a little justice to the short number of mech anime I’ve watched. I personally think that my first experience with a mech anime was with Suisei no Gargantia.

Suisei no Gargantia Poster

Suisei no Gargantia focuses on Ledo who has been swallowed up by a distortion of time and space which takes him to Earth. The planet has been covered with water as all the ice has been dissolved covering all of the lands in water. The anime is around 2 years ago, and as far as I can remember, it’s possibly the first anime that involved mech and I was quite intrigued.

The animation and graphics of the anime show was quite good too. And at the time when I largely focused on Bleach and Naruto, this comparison to them shocked me a little. The fact that these 12 episode or 24 episode shows had a great plot and good animation compared to common shows are something that I fancied.

Suisei no Gargantia, isn’t the best mech anime, I know that but it’s one of those shows that somewhat introduced me to the smaller episodic anime. So what do you think? If you’ve also watched this anime, or watch any other mech anime, go ahead and comment down below.

I love mechs because I grew up watching stuff like Mazinger Z and Voltron. Gargantia is a cool show. It’s not one of the best animes of all time, but I feel it is under rated.

I only saw Gundam SEED & SEED Destiny. Gundam SEED was one of the first animes I ever watched it was new to me & I enjoyed it a lot. I think you try those 2, I don’t know about others.
