Discovering My Anime Crush

As part of the 30 day anime challenge, I will be answering Day 7 which concerns on who my anime crush is. From the numerous number of anime’s that I have seen, I could pick out any number of characters which are thought to be worthy but there can only be one.

So let’s with this particular question, who is my anime crush. I believe from the vast number of anime’s which I’ve seen, I think can go ahead and freely pick one which I believe to have something special making them someone worthy of being picked. Let’s begin with Bleach, there are a large number of females I could pick from.

Yoruichi Shihoin by RikamelloFrom characters such as Orihime to Unohana. Both are amazing at what they do, one helps out the protagonist in getting what he needs, while the others quietly helps out the Shinigami force, until she revealed her true self to a beast of a Captain. Both are worthy of being chosen, but I think there could be someone even better.

Yoruichi, someone who largely helped out Ichigo when he wanted to invade Soul Society and rescue Rukia. She was there when he was in trouble, she helped him by healing his wounds both in her human and cat forms. Nevertheless, I still think there are many other options which I could discuss.

From the mind of Hiro Mashima comes Fairy Tail, with a bunch of amazing females you could just fall in love with. So much so that I even went ahead to discuss how Erza could be the best female character. There are a number of amazing characters such as Mirajane, Mavis and even Levy who I would love to be the number one here (Lucy not so much, don’t like her at times).

Naruto, again another fantastic series which has an everlasting supply of amazing and cool character you could love till the series either finishes or they die. From characters such as Sakura, Karin, Tsunade, Tenten, Ino, Hinata or even Temari, there are a number of great characters, but they always had something missing from view-point.

Attack on Titan has Mikasa who is also a great candidate who anyone would fall in love for. Or Asuna from Sword Art Online. Moving onto Dragon Ball, we have characters such as Videl, Android 18, Bulma, Chi-chi and so on to whom if I properly watched, I would consider them as the one listed here. But for me, there could only be one. This person is…

Nico Robin One Piece

Nico Robin

Nico Robin, a crew member of the Straw Hats and a large part of the One Piece (OP) series. Being someone who is usually left to her self, Luffy saved her and now she’s more open compared to how we used to know her. A side note, I have yet to catch up to the latest episode of the series, however I know that Robin is awesome and is clearly worthy of being chosen.

Nico Robin began her journey within OP as a girl who has a bounty on her head for her abilities gifted through the Devil Fruit, as well as the intelligence which got her nowhere but a bad part of the pirate filler world. She was chased down until members of the Straw Hat Crew, being Luffy, saved her and lifted her own curse by defeating Crocodile.

As well as that, Luffy and the members of the Straw Hat Crew had to go up against CP9 and Lucci in order to prevent Robin’s death. It was a great battle indeed as Robin had to figure it out for herself that she wanted to live instead of dying for no reason. The reason why I choose Robin was the fact that her character seems true to her nature, she is a good friend, intelligent and cares about her crew.

However, she also has her own weak parts, both physically and psychologically when asked about her past. She seems much more life-like compared to the other characters mentioned.

So, who would you consider to be someone you could call an anime crush? Someone you could say you liked because they did something or are funny. Go ahead and use the comment section below, lets discuss this.

Very good choices. I actually like all the characters you picked that you like like Yoruichi, Hinata, and even Miss. Hancock. My anime crush was Ranma from 1/2. Ichigo is my anime crush. I used to have a crush on Grimmjow until I started disliking his asshole attitude. Shuuhei and Kensei have always been my crushes.

Quickly googled Ranma, and it reminds me of the Yu Yu Hakusho type of design that features really olden style of anime. Ichigo is definitely a good choice, Grimmjow is a badass 10/10 all day every day, that’s what I like about it him lol. And Kensei, what more can I say? He is one hell of a power house with his knife and sparring skills.

Yup it is. Ranma was written by the same person that wrote Inuyasha. Its from the early 90s. I have a Quincy crush too. Its Gerard Valkyrie. 😉

I don’t really buy into a question like this. I like a lot of characters, but I’d never say that I had a crush on any. <_< It would just go against my anime viewing mojo. Still, there are definitely a lot of likable anime characters around, and they tend to have more personality than their comic book counterparts for me.

That’s probably right but I think since I’ve been watching OP, it’s become something i’ve taken into consideration and just went and chose Robin caz she’s pretty awesome lol

Well, she is certainly a cool character. For a while, I had her ranked number 1 among the One Piece heroines, but I ended up putting Nami over her after reliving the first half of the series. She’s still quite good though, but I feel like she suffers from an issue that I have with all of the Strawhats after the imeskip. They all seemed to lose a lot of personality. In particular, Nami, Robin, Franky, and Zoro suffer from this, but even Chopper and Sanji seem like pale imitations of themselves. I dunno, I’m still not really a fan of the timeskip thanks to this, but with the Dressrosa arc finally over, the plot should start to change.

I’ve not gotten to the time skin yet, but I think they’ve just gotten stronger in terms of strength and personality wise too. I guess it’s to actually show that during that time they have changed and so on.

They certainly are supposed to feel stronger and have more personality, but I feel like the timeskip just had the opposite effect for me. Back before the timeskip, One Piece was a 9 star title for me, but the timeskip knocked it down to a high 6 or low 7.

Eeek, thats pretty bad. If it’s lost so many stars then I’d better watch out. Although, I think a lot of people interpret it different ways and many might have just become accustomed to them getting strong and more mature.

Absolutely, depending on how much you enjoy the series and Oda’s style of writing, the timeskip may not bother you and it could even become better. I’ve never really seen someone who preferred the One Piece timeskip and it’s almost unanimously agreed that Fishman arc and the Vegapunk sagas were some of the worst One Piece arcs, but people did like the latest one, which finally finished after such a long break. It’ll be interesting to see how you like the series after the big jump as opposed to before. CP9 and Marineford/Impel Down are still my two favorite arcs with Enel’s island probably being third.

Get ready for a lot of awesome fights! There are almost too many in the sense that a lot of them occur off screen similar to Bleach and Naruto’s big wars, but it’s a really good ride from start to finish.

Lol, well that makes sense I suppose. It’s the same with me and shows that I don’t think I’ll be starting anytime soon. In those cases, you figure that it’s okay to spoil yourself. I’m more careful with that nowadays, but Fairy Tail is a good example. I didn’t think that I would check it out so I already heard about a lot of future things.

I used to have crushes on a couple of demons, Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha from Inuyasha. I don’t have any crushes now, but I do have a special spot in my heart for a couple of icy fellows, our Fairy Tail ice mage, Gray Fullbuster, and my favorite Bleach captain, Toshiro Hitsugaya. I just want to hang out with those two guys.
