Bleach 639 see’s Mayuri’s Golden Ashisogi Jizou Bankai called out, this time it’s a lot different as it contains a Demon Womb Wrapped in Disease, giving birth to his reconfigured Bankai which allows him to eat Pernida and his three left arms after he had cut two of his fingers and transformed those into new bodies.
Bleach 639 see’s Mayuri’s hand slightly give up on him as he mentioned that he did a bad job of operating on himself with just on hand. Pernida mentions that he doesn’t seem as confident as he was before. Mayuri asks if it’s how he interprets this situation, then Pernida mentions that he would like to shake his confidence some more.
The finger Mayuri took off transforms into a fully formed hand to which it quickly tries to attack Mayuri, however Mayuri just splashes it with a special liquid which hurts it. Mayuri learns that chopping Pernida into pieces won’t be beneficial due to the fact that he can split himself.
Out of nowhere, Pernida cuts his own middle finger and lets it transform into another hand, during this time Mayuri remembers the time he was in the library reading up on this. He mentions that the Soul King’s right hand is “Stillness”, while the left hand governs “Progress”.
However, as it’s written in a book, doesn’t make it an actual fact. Mayuri here is happy that he is experiencing and fighting such a marvelous fight. He’s getting first hand experience in terms of the studies he did. Three hands raise up as Mayuri holds his sword.
He goes on and calls upon his sword and calls out Bankai! Yumichika mentions that Mayuri’s Golden Ashisogi Jizou will release poison which has 200m in radius, they need to get Zaraki out of there. Mayuri smiles when he mentions Poison to Yumichika. That would be far too extravagant given the situation.
Mayuri releases his Bankai and mentions that from the knowledge he’s collected, he will give birth to his Golden Ashisogi Jizou, the Demon Womb Wrapped in Disease. None of them know what it is until Mayuri tells them that it’s his reconfigured Bankai. He’s implemented the Demon Womb Wrapped in Disease to complete metamorphosis of the Golden Leg-Cutter Jizou and it’s abilities.
By using all the information that he’s seen now, he can use it all to do whatever he wants to give birth to a new Ashisogi Jizou. All the information may be overwhelming, thus he will just show it to Pernida. The current Demon Womb gives birth to a new Ashisogi Jizou where it has a large number of nerves around its body.
Mayuri mentions that this Ashisogi Jizou has it’s nerves on the surface of its skin, so by it simple touching the ground causes him severe pain. Pernida tries to connect to it using his own nerves, but it fails as Mayuri mentions that the nerves are split across 70,000 epidermal layers.
Therefore, if Pernida tries and integrate itself with its nerves, it will shed and fail to actually connect. Nevertheless, Pernida tries to attack but Ashisogi Jizou jumps into action and tries to eat up Pernida and his hands. Mayuri mentions that resistance is futile.
Unless Pernida can work through the 70,000 layers of epidermal layers of nerves, Pernida will surely die. Pernida gets swollen up as Mayuri smiles with the biggest of grins. Outside the battle zone, Nemu quietly watches Mayuri as she has some different feelings. Bleach 639 ends here.
A fantastic chapter indeed, seems like Mayuri might have just won this one with his ability to fight against such an opponent. But can Pernida bring it back, and what does Nemu currently have in mind. Next week’s Bleach 640, will have a colour cover and intro pages!

This fight got more creepy. But here’s what I think. If ya’ll think Mayuri has won this fight, than you really don’t know Bleach. Especially a Mayuri fight. Its just like when his Bankai devoured Szayelaporro, and he used Nemu to come back. I’m Expecting This Modified Bankai to blow up in chapter 640. Also, I’m I the only one that’s getting a weird feeling from Nemu? I don’t know why, but I don’t believe she’s going to help Mayuri at all.

I think Kubo is intentionally highlighting Nemu here, she will do something or something will happen that she will cause or something or rather. I’m sure Pernida has more tricks up his sleeve that he can use against Mayuri. And the battle here just began, it’s only the Baby, Hold My Hand second chapter, I’m sure like usual, there might be like 5 or two of these. I think Nemu is thinking that Mayuri is changing, so she will do something stupid here.

That is very true, the battle I think is far from over, a few more chapters before it’s truly over and mayuri’s part of the manga comes to a possible end. Not technically saying he will die, but his part of the manga, like his story, will be shown here.

I’m glad you guys don’t believe this fight is over. Think god man! 🙂 We all know Kubo does this stuff. The fact that he’s showing Nemu again must mean she’s going to try to save him in chapter 640. If Mayuri’s past and a color page is shown, it’s possible Mayuri will die. I agree about the casualties. Sternritter have died, but so have Shinigami. The list for each side keeps getting bigger.

I can’t think that Mayuri would die, I think he’ll get hit quite hard by what Pernida might do next but he won’t be killed. I think in terms of Bleach, he’s also become a pinnacle like Aizen/Urahara etc.

Pretty much ya. I know Kisuke actually learned some things from the Royal Guard if I remember correctly. He made his own version of Tenjiro’s helping hot springs. And he learned how to cook alot of food that can help fill your Reiatsu from Hikifune. She and Kisuke know each other pretty well last time I checked.

Oh right, this could also be something, I think in terms of Mayuri always having Nemu by his side means that she was his daughter. But since Nemu might have already gotten the feeling that Mayuri may have changed could point that Nemu might in fact see her end soon since he might use her as a weapon.

I don’t personally see it that way to me honest. I think he’ll die or be brutally defeated that takes him out of the fight for the very long time. With Nemu, I believe it’s going to what she d side back in 636. She said Mayuri only calls her when he cannot handle his opponent. Like I said before, that’s never happened. Now it looks like it will and Nemu looks worried.

That’s alot of layers. I can understand how he can do this. He did modify his Shikai to paralyzes everything biological like with Zaraki. Now his Bankai can resist this part of The Compulsory. I believe Pernida is going to use the whispering part of The Compulsory to kill this Bankai.

He could take it over, but remember when Szayelaporro took over his Bankai? It blew up when it attacked Mayuri. He has a self-destruct protocol of anyone takes over his Bankai because it’s weakest is that it’s a living creature and can be killed or taken over. That’s a possibility but her Schrift doesn’t really control you like The Zombie or The Love, it just fucks up your body however she wants.

Ahh that’s interesting, I completely forgot about the self-destruct feature. But if Mayuri has just recently reconfigured his Bankai, could he have forgotten to put the self destruct in? Well I guess not if he was thorough about his config of his Bankai. Nevertheless, I don’t think Pernida is dead, he has a number of things he can do to get out and come back from his current situation.

Ya I don’t think Pernida is dead either. She needs a flashback. And it’s way to early for the Schutzstaffel to start dying if they even will. I also liked how you noticed Kubo named this chapter “Baby hold out your hand” he did that in 637 when Pernida was revealed as the left arm of the Soul King. But he didn’t do that for 638. Is it possible Pernida is gonna reveal something else? Like say, her humanoid form?? I can honestly see her blowing up this Bankai, and seeing her back in her humanoid form with her Schutzstaffel cloak. I don’t know.

Sorry Sunite I meant to reply to your last post. But Davidoko, the reason why he couldn’t modify Ichigo’s Bankai is because it’s broken. You can’t fix a Broken Bankai. Only Oetsu can. Mayuri’s Bankai is a living creature, and it can evolve like a butterfly when he gives it new information, his and Ichigo’s Bankai are incredibly different.

Oh actually, that flashback with Chibi Shunsui was 2100 years ago. It wasn’t 1000 years ago. He and Jushiro are the same age, so it’s also possible 2100 years ago, Mimihagi became one with Jushiro. I wished we would have seen Yhwach vs Liltotto and Giselle. Ya we don’t know if they are did. This is Bleach. The only Sternritter out of them that’s confirmed dead is Bazz-B.

Guys… how fast was Mimihagi wasted? i think as before the main purpose of these Hands was balance. The left handles Progress apparently. mayuri said that “now’, he could give birth to it. I think the left hand facilitated his progress. If not…Pernida must use a power that mayuri will not notice, so that he cant reap information and modify his bankai accordingly…which is highly unlikely. I think the body is stronger ToGeThEr, not individually. Cause the right hand was wasted pretty fast!!!! by the OP Yhwach that is.

Have any of ya’ll noticed something about Pernida? Have you noticed she’s been speaking more better sense chapter 637? I mean in that chapter she speaks like this “Name…Not..Left arm. My..Name..is..Pernida. Pernida…Parnkgjas.” Than in this chapter, she speaks better. “Shameful. Does that mean your getting nervous? Wanna be more nervous? Blood got in my eye.” She is getting better at speaking and I think she’s about to use the whispering part of The Compulsory.

Yeah, I think you might be right. I think it is somewhat significant but also Kubo had to make Pernida able to speak properly, so people wouldn’t get confused what she’s saying when it comes to translating etc.

Yeah totally saw that. I think that it could be due to her her getting more evolved and developing a neutral language she and Mayuri can speak. I don’t think before hand she could speak but now she’s quickly learned and is able to speak in proper sentences. Showing how much she can “progress” from not knowing to being able to talk properly.

Ya it’s very strange and interesting. This chapter showed that Pernida can be very creepy and she makes fun of Mayuri. I’m guessing she has a hard time speaking because she’s in that form with no mouth. I know her humanoid form can speak fine, but I guess when she transforms, her speech gets slow for a while until she gets used to it I guess? She’s so weird.

Oh you mean those chains on Pernida’s finger tips? Possibly. But I doubt it. If Pernida is part of the Elite Guard, which is supposed to protect Yhwach, I don’t see why he would need to restrict her. Its possible when she transformed into the left arm, the chains were already their and she broke them to grow bigger.

Well Yhwach is already the Soul King, even though it would make sense for Pernida to create the Soul King, I doubt she will, she is on Yhwach’s side. The only difference I see that Pernida Parnkgjas is Schutzstaffel C The Compulsory, she’s the Quincy that became one with the left arm for whatever reason. Burden? What do you mean David?

Oh I see! Hey you never know. I actually did think that back in 637 when she said her name isn’t left arm. But now I’m not so sure. This chapter Pernida is displaying new abilities that seem to come from the left arms power. Replicating herself into two more left arms. So it’s possible. We have to see why she became one with the left arm. Kubo isn’t giving us a lot to work with yet.

Oh that’s an interesting one. Well if Zaraki is just using his sealed Zanpakuto and his eye patch is still on, vs Shunsui using Shikai, I’m gonna go with Shunsui. But if Zaraki uses his Shikai, he wins. If Shunsui goes Bankai, which has to be haxed as fuck, than he wins. If Zaraki takes off his eye patch and uses Shikai than he is stronger. That’s just what I think.

Well remember, even though Zaraki doesn’t like most Kido Zanpakuto, he can figure out most of them. He’s very perspective when he wants to be. Figuring out Kaname’s Bankai and seeing of Gremmy’s The Visionary works are good examples. I can see him figuring out most of Shunsui’s games sense he’s supposed to tell you how they work. The only game I don’t think he can figure out without brute force is Kageoni. The shadow tag game. And Irooni. The color pick game.

During Kaname’s fight he was given enough time to think cause it was just one ability. Guremi, he had to endure and adapt later. Guremi’s mind was occupied so Zaraki didn’t have to adapt too much.

Ya I can understand that. That’s fair. He certainly couldn’t figure out Pernida’s Schrift before getting fucked up. But to be fair neither could Mayuri. He did use Zaraki as bait to counter The Compulsory. Considering how much endurance Zaraki has, he probably would have enough time to figure out most of the games without losing. But knowing Shunsui, he knows how strong he is. He would likely use his strongest game against him. I know he’ll keep his distance when Zaraki uses Nozorashi.

Nozorashi has the ability to cut through anything. Even space. It most likely will. That’s Why Shunsui needs to keep his distance and pick a color that effects both of them the most. Basically the color that they are both wearing the most. White if they fight with tier Captain hayoris on. Black without them. If you don’t pick a color, you don’t get hurt when your opponent attacks you.

And we’re Shunsui to land a hit Zaraki saying black it could be fatal. Irooni doesn’t mean the wound will be bigger but much more fatal. The final wound that Shunsui gave stark could be endure by many people but Irooni might tip the scale.

Basically yes. Saying a color that your opponent doesn’t wear is normal damage. Not saying a color would be no damage. Yes I remember. The color you pick the most would be more fatal. But Shunsui would have to do that a few times, maybe even a couple times. Remember Stark said white and slashed Shunsui’s back? That did alot of damage, and it probably felt like Shunsui was cut in half. I can’t wait to see him fight Jugram.

Yup I agree. Apart from his power switching ability and power up ability, his Schrift must be The Balance. I think he has used it twice so far. First, was when Ichigo was coming to attack Yhwach from behind, than Jugram used The Balance to tip the scales into his favor and cut Tensa Zangetsu In half. Just like your profile pic 😉 And when Cang Du used The Iron to block his Spirit Weapon, than he used The Balance to top the scales from Cang to him, because he got lucky twice. He used Vollständig to free himself from Toshiro’s Bankai ice, and blocking his Spirit Weapon.

Oh sorry I said it wrong. Its the color your opponent is wearing the most. Your mostly wearing green, so if I cut you, your damage will be alot. You cut me saying pink would do good damage, but not as much as the damage I did to you. The lost fatal color is the color that effects you and your opponent. We both have green, so we use green.

He is empty. He is a void. He doesn’t know what feels are but he does have them. If you have seen the short story Kubo did when he was a Vasto Lorde, he tried to kill himself by laying in a large crystal tree before Aizen found him. He wanted to understand what death was. I have seen him angry, when Ichigo wouldn’t give up.

Ya he becomes very defensive and critical when it comes to emotions. Stark is kinda similar, but I consider Harribel closer to Stark than Ulquiorra. Those two are the only Espada that weren’t evil. They actually care about their Fraccion very much just like Nelliel. Those three are my favorite Espada.

Grimmjow’s flashback really didn’t help his personality at all. It didn’t explain much about him. It just explained why he thinks he’s a king. The other Espada had better flashbacks than him.

Nnoitra’s flashback was when he was the 8th Espada, and Nelliel was the 3rd Espada. He always challenged her, and he always lost. But his pride was hurt when she never killed him. They first fought when Aizen sent the Espada to look for Vasto Lorde, and he killed an entire Hollow nest. Nelliel asked him why and it was pointless. He didn’t care what she thought, but he was attacked by a group of Hollows and passed out. He woke up and Nelliel saved him and killed the Hollows. That’s when he started challenging her. He became very bitter because he thinks his pride is hurt when his opponent doesn’t kill him. Leading him to depression. Which caused him to rip off Pesche and Dondocchaka’s masks completely to provoke Nelliel. Which it did, but he had Szayelaporro (who wants even an Espada) to create a machine that ticked Nel and Nnoitra defeated her. He casts out her and her Fraccion.

I don’t believe he’s stronger than Harribel. Sure, he’s faster, but Harribel isn’t slow. She’s after than Toshiro, Hiyori (Hollow Mask) and Lisa (Hollow Mask). He did say that Stark, Barragan, and Harribel were stronger than him. He doesn’t seem like the type to lie.

Stark has more Reiatsu, and if those two fought he would beat Barragan. Barragan is more haxed, but Stark has more power.

I actually had this discussion about Ulquiorra’s Segundo Etapa with two other people a few months ago on this blog. You can kind it in the past Bleach chapter posts. But I don’t believe Ulquiorra’s Segundo Etapa makes him the strongest Espada. It doesn’t even increase his powers. His speed and strength are the same. He can used regeneration and Black Cero like in his first release. Only difference is using Lanza Del Relanpago. His Reiatsu does change, but it does not increase. Uryu said his Reiatsu feels like an ocean of depression. If his Reiatsu did increase, Uryu and Orihime would have felt like they couldn’t stand up.

I saw your post about the fastest characters and I have to agree with you. All of those characters are incredibly fast. I actually think two other characters can make that list.
Shutara Senjumaru. When the Royal Guard arrived at the gate of the Serietei, she used Shunpo to travel to the 4th Division and got Rukia, Byakuya, and Renji using Kido, than she traveled to Mayuri’s lab and got Ichigo’s broken Bankai, and appeared back very quickly.
Pernida Parnkgjas. When Yhwach called her, she used Hirenkyaku to appear behind Yoruichi Shiohoin, the Flash Goddess, before she could react, and warped her arm with The Compulsory.
The 2nd Strongest Captain? I’ll have to go with Unohana. She is the first Kenpachi, and Shunsui had her train Zaraki because he wasn’t strong enough to handle Zaraki becoming stronger every time he us dying. I believe Unohana is as strong as the Royal Guard. Kubo actually said the only Captains strong enough to be a Divine General are Yamamoto and Unohana.

Hahaha, my friend ?I tell you i trully wanted to put Shutara. Not even because of that(i’m not sure it was shunpo. It might have just been her hands.) but because of her speed in what she does. If you do something in this time. She might just be 500 times faster(not a thousand because we have two hands).

I’m sure she did use her hands. But she still needed to use Shunpo to get their. But ya Shutara is very powerful in my opinion. I actually believe she was fighting Pernida when Yhwach was fighting Ichibei. Lille took out Oetsu with that shot through the chest, and I believe he was fighting Hikifune. And Gerard was fighting Tenjiro.

Gerard and Tenjiro might have been cool. So do you think Askin did the finishing job. As I don’t think I saw a drop of blood on was it Hikifune but it might have been Lille.

Knowing Askin, I don’t actually believe he did anything. Lille already took out Oetsu, than he took out Hikifune. While Pernida and Gerard took out Shutara and Tenjiro. I actually believe when Pernida defeats and or kills Mayuri, Shutara will show up. They apparently have history together and she is apparently smarter than him.

I do like Mayuri. He’s creepy as hell but he’s an incredibly interesting character. But Kubo keeps putting foreshadowing in this fight with Pernida that he’s going to lose. That smile at the end of this chapter means he thinks he’s won this fight. Nemu looks worried because she knows Mayuri isn’t himself. He’s overconfident because he wants to study Pernida. He’s not being careful like he should be.

As for Unhana, I also have to agree as it was said that Shunsui and Ukitake were both scared of her right from the very beginning. However, I don’t think Zaraki is truly stronger than her. We didn’t see her use any abilities. If he was, he might as well be the strongest capatain.

But at the end of the day, the fastest might just be Ichibei, 1000ri is fast. I think kirinji is faster than Yoruichi. As for Stark, I recently found out about the difference between his sonido and that of others.

I don’t believe Zaraki is stronger than Unohana either. If he achieved Bankai than yes, and he will he the strongest Captain. Ichibei is deadly fast. I personally think Tenjiro and Yoruichi are the same speed. The fastest Quincy to me is Yhwach And Pernida.

i get the feeling that Zaraki’s bankai will just give him more cutting power. Did you notice that all captains of the 11th squad have been Kenpachi.

Ya basically. His Shikai Already Has immense Cutting Power. I can’t imagine his Bankai. Yup I did. All 11th Division Captains are renamed Kenpachi.

Why? They weren’t really strong. The one before Zaraki was practically weak.

Well I it does make sense for there to be weak Kenpachi. The 9th and 10th Kenpachi were weak. The reason why is the 8th Kenpachi, Soya Azashiro, was sentenced to the Muken for starring a revolution 300 years ago. He killed the 7th Kenpachi, Kuruyashiki, who’s Bankai was a living creature like Unohana’s Minazuki, that devours anyone. It was so powerful, he could only use it once very three months I believe. Azashiro used that to his advantage and used his Bankai, Uro Zakuro, and killed him in one attack. Uro Zakuro can manifest herself like Muramasa. She looks like an imperial Japanese princess. When Azashiro went to the Muken, his lieutenant became the 9th. He didn’t earn that title naturally. Kuruyashiki was close friends with Shunsui, Jushiro, Unohana, and Hikifune. Shunsui witnessed his death. Uro Zakuro has the ability to fuse Azashiro with anything. He fused with Kuruyashiki and killed him. He can fuse with the air and avoid attacks. He can even bypass Aizen’s Shikai.

All this info, i must know more. I’m checking the wiki. one more thing about Jugo. You might never know if he is using his power on the whole war to lean victory towards the quincies. As that was what he said to Shunsui. “My role here is to remove that balance and make the scales lean towards the quincy”. You can’t say it’s not possible cause he said that Yhwach has distributed his soul over Sereitei. so it doesn’t matter who dies. He only gets stronger. Haschwalth might also be using his power on a large scale. So killing him might even the odds.

Oh ya that’s right I forgot about that. Killing Jugram would definitely be good. I’m counting on Shunsui to do it. The info I told you is from the separate novels written by a different person but is mostly canon in Bleach. Its called Spirits are forever with you.

Yeah Shunsui’s got some work to do. He might seem like a lazy character but when it comes to real work, Shunsui really comes through. Where can i get the novels?

I don’t actually know were to kind them. I do know theirs a online review about both novels. If you look up the title and review I think you’ll find it. Its supposed to answer why Zaraki has a newer, stronger eye patch 17 months later.

But the thing is. Why then can’t he defeat Juha Bach? Even without Auswhalen, Yhwach would still be victorious. Youmight say his eyes would prevent Guremi from having any dangerous effect on him.
